Testosterone gel pre-ivf

I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience of using testosterone gel prior to an ivf cycle? I’ll be starting my 3rd cycle soon, and I’m doing four weeks of testosterone first to help wake my ovaries up a bit first. I’ll also be using Meriofert as opposed to Ovaleap like my last two cycles.

From my Google searches it seems to be helpful, but I’m keeping an open mind.

Hi. I did use it for my last cycle which ended in 5 eggs and zero fertilisation. Not saying it doesn’t work but I think during the iVF process we clutch on the next thing being the resolution to our issues so just keep an open mind but also be cautious. Maybe the whole process has made me a cynic. Good luck

That’s interesting. How were your fertilisation rates prior to that cycle? I’ve had five eggs on both collections, they’ve all fertilised and I’ve had blasts. Despite my AMH being reasonable my AFC is very low (2-3), so the intention is to bump that up a bit x

Bit of a mixed bag. First ever cycle great fertilisation rate had 4 blasts. 2nd and 3rd different clinic different drugs but still short protocols . 4/5 eggs each time zero fertilisation. Only on tester one for the 3rd cycle. Started some drugs to try and improve my lining between the 1st and subsequent cycle so not sure if they had an impact. Come off all drugs now and taking time off IVF.

I had it last round, personally I don’t think it did anything. But what doesn’t work for some works for others x

I'm on it currently for 8 weeks before I start my next cycle (our 3rd too) I'm about 5 weeks in. I asked a DHEA, and was told this does the same thing. No negative side effects, if anything my skin looks a bit healthier, OH was hoping my libido would go into overdrive but that hasn't happened 😂 Waiting on blood tests to see if it's making a difference.

I definitely won’t be complaining if it makes my skin a bit better! I’ve been joking with my bloke that I’m going to get big muscles and he looked terrified 😂

It came with my delivery, I’d check on your medication list/ inventory. Mine were listed on there. They seemed to send me a new one for each cycle too. You might be able to order one online?
