Hi everyone,
I had egg collection on Weds, and Monday (tomorrow) I will get my day 5 update from the embryologist. My clinic are advising a freeze all as my progesterone levels were higher than they'd want when they measured on trigger day, and my lining is thin (5.5mm at egg collection). I'm totally fine with that, as I know there's more they can do to help build lining and monitor progesterone levels with a FET.
However, they have said that that if come Monday, there's are an embryo/blastocyst that looks OK but wouldn't make the cut off for freezing, they might advise we still transfer this, rather than 'waste' it. But at the end of the day it's up to us.
Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you decide to do? I know chances of success will be very slim with all these factors anyway, but my worry is that if it did implant, there may be higher chance of miscarriage. Having already been through a prolonged missed miscarriage, I'm nervous about an increased chance of that heartache and ultimately delaying the chance to transfer a better equality blast into a body that's in a better position to accept it!
Our numbers aren't high though and we are expecting a significant drop off in the update tomorrow, so we are certainly not in a position to risk 'wasting' an embryo that could have a chance!
Ultimately, we will be led by the embryologist tomorrow but I was hoping someone here might also have some words of wisdom.
Thank you! 🌟
