Changing from Utrogestan to Cyclogest

Hi lovelies.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever had to switch from utrogestan to cyclogest part way through their cycle or even part way through early pregnancy. I'm so scared this is going to mess things up for me and just wanted to hear if others think its ok/normal to swap between both medications.

Thank you x

Yes - I was told it's fine to mix and match. Was told 800mg Utrogestan is equivalent to 800-100mg cyclogest x

I have used cyclogest (2 per day) which I had leftover from a previous cycle when I ran out of utrageston (3 per day) during this pregnancy, I checked with my clinic and they said it would be fine at the above doses. I am currently 8 weeks and this was about 2 weeks ago for about a week so it didn't have any bad effect.

Ah amazing thank you both so much. I was actually really nervous because things seem to finally be going well for preg number 7 (no take home babies yet) but this made me worry. You have both put my mind at ease. Thank you again xx

I had to switch part way through on my most recent transfer from Cyclogest to Utragestan (so the opposite way to you) and have also switched between Progynova and Zumenon tablets before depending on what the pharmacy had available. My clinic said it’s really the brand name but the medicine is the same. Personally, I prefer Cyclogest as it can be inserted in the ‘back door’ and I found it much less messy, so you never know, you may be happy with the switch up. Xx

Thanks Daffodils. I'm finding it a bit weird doing it this way lol i think i preferred using an applicator and just the shape/size of utrogestan. Hate how big cyclogest is but I have officially made the change so praying nothing changes! X
