I've just been told that I have UTI which can mimic early pregnancy symptoms. I've been so nauseous and using the toilet a lot but I just thought it was pregnancy... I'm currently 8w+2d but now I'm freaking out. I really want to have another scan to reassure myself as I'm not able to get the antibiotics until mid next week 😱
I'm just really upsetting myself and don't know how to calm down 😢

I'm sorry to hear that you have a UTI and are now worried about your pregnancy. I'm sure all is fine - UTIs are common in pregnancy - but if you're concerned about the wait for antibiotics you could buy D-mannose powder to use in the meantime. It's a natural way to clear UTIs and it's safe for use in pregnancy (it's just a naturally occurring sugar). NOW Brands does a good one xxx
Fab, I hope you feel better soon! I was advised to take 500 mg every 2-3 hours for five days. Hopefully it will start to clear things up while you wait for your antibiotics xx
You’re not being silly! It’s taken time and effort for you to get here and it’s all so uncertain! Take the antibiotics whenever you can get them, and if you want another scan, book one. It’ll hopefully be good reassurance. I got a good deal for a scan on Groupon!
Don’t stress it will be fine. When I was pregnant with my son similar gestation the midwife forgot to tell me I had tested positive for a UTI and I didn’t get antibiotics until 2 weeks later. He’s now a happy, healthy 2 year old. They are very common in pregnancy, that’s why they test your urine every time you have an appointment x
If you’re worried you can go and get a scan at the epu at your nearest hospital they usually have a walk in service. At least then you’ll be able to check everything is in order and you can explain you have a UTI and you’re worried
The epu in my area doesn't allow walk ins anymore 🤷🏾♀️ you have to be referred by a doctor. It feels quicker to just book a private scan which I might do xx
