Hi I've been ttc for my second child for just over 2 and half years. I had a laparoscopy just under 2 weeks ago where they did a pregnancy test beforehand that was negative. I would have only been about 3 and a half weeks pregnant. Now a week and a half later I've had 3 positive pregnancy tests. My question is it was so early will the procedure or the anaesthetic have harmed the pregnancy?
I'm going to call my doctors tomorow but I'm so scared as I've been trying for so long I don't want anything bad to happen.

Hi jade. It's strange the clinic didn't pick up on a positive pregnancy test before the laparoscopy. Hopefully your GP will do a blood test Beta hCG to confirm it. The anaesthetic wouldn't have harmed the pregnancy. Fingers crossed for you. Diane
Hi Diane thank you for replying, my doctors have reffered me to early pregnancy unit for a scan but aparently they will ask me to wait till I am 6 weeks. Not really ideal as I'm going to spend the next week really worrying. I had had some spotting a week before the procedure so had told them my concerns and they did the test but I've had 2 previous pregnancies (one resulted in a miscarriage) didn't get a positive with either of them till I was 5 weeks pregnant even know I knew I was.
Hi. I realise it will be a nightmare waiting, but you need to get to 6 weeks for an accurate reading and dating. Just rest when you can, and I do hope all will be ok. Diane
