So we had a call from the embryologist this morning. Not so great news but holding out for some hope we get some to freeze. Out of 20 eggs they managed to ICSI 17 but only 4 have fertilised overnight π₯ they will ring me tomorrow to see how things are and if we should freeze tomorrow or go to day 5 before freezing. He said it would be our choice in what we do. Slightly disappointed in the fact they got 17 to insemination but only 4 have made it. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed we have at least 1 to freeze xx

Actually it's great to have four eggs developing by now, even if I can understand that it feels disappointing to get only 20% success with your many eggs. Well, my first round gave me 19 eggs and only three to freeze. That only tells us that it's not the numbers which counts, it's the quality, and I do believe strongly that having fewer follicles stimulated makes it more likely that you get a higher percentage of better quality eggs. Third round I had too, I don't know how many follicles they emptied (A LOT! - but they never told me), giving me only four eggs and even that one fertilised didn't survive the first night - what a waste! Numbers is nothing. Quality is everything! Four is a great number! Some people would kill to have more than one at the time (well, not exactly kill, but you understand). One of your four beanies could be your lucky one β€β€β€
Just wanted to wish you best of luck and I hope all four make it π€π€π€π€π€π€π€πππxxx
Uff, I'm so sorry. That must have been so disappointing when you had such a good haul of eggs. I have to say, though, we only ever had 4 fertilise, and we still got good numbers of embryos each time (2 first cycle, 3 second cycle) so it's definitely possible to still get a good result! Wishing you so much luck xxx
