Fyremadel post egg collection

I had egg collection today and have been given Fyremadel for 5 days. I really thought the nurse asked me to start today which I have but I can’t see anyone else on the internet that has been asked to do that. Seems everyone else has used this before collection.

Fyremadel is used before egg collection and is the second drug you take to stop you ovulating - I’ve not heard of anyone taking it afterwards

@running79 thanks both. I’ve just heard from the clinic who said as I am risk of over stimulating they wanted to calm things down hence starting the Fyremadel

Hello…. These messages are from a while ago, don’t know if you’re still on here? I wanted to ask about Fyremedal, did you end up getting OHSS and did you do a fresh embryo transfer? Thanks so much x

Hi, so I did take the Fyremedal and I didn’t get OHSS but to be on the safe side I didn’t have fresh transfer. I was really upset about it at the time as we had never managed to get any frozen eggs but we ended up with 5 in the freezer and I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant 😁 xx

Belated reply but: I was given 5 extra days of Fyremadel too (after egg retrieval as a donor) due to mild OHSS - to stop it escalating. Bled continuously on the 4th day but was told it was normal. Congrats for your pregnancy!
