Two peaks in ovulation

Hi All, has anyone had two peaks in ovulation 5 days apart? I had my first and was having flashy faces on clear blue, had ov pains and my temp spiked. Then readings went back to 0. Then 5 days later had very Creamy CM, did a Ov test and was a solid smiley on clear blue, small temp spike. I'm was on clomd 100mg this cycle. First spike was day 16, 2nd day 21. anyone any ideas? thanks

Not had this no. Just thinking that maybe you ovulated from both ovaries at different times? I know I've ovulated from both ovaries before. Good luck x

Hi, unfortunately I don't know. I just had a scan and she said she could see I had ovulated from both sides. Could you be pregnant? I think that tests positive on a ovulation test...

I didn’t think you were supposed to check ovulation on clear blue until the next month once you have a smiley face? I thought it messed up the testing. It’s testing for that LH surge - I guess for whatever reason you could still have a bit of LH in the system. It’s for this reason I didn’t think you were supposed to test once you get the flashing smiley

oh really OK. I didn't get a solid smiley on first peak. but I tested again cos I had loads of CM, then it was solid smiley. so odd not happened before. thanks for that x

I’m sorry I didn’t see your chart. I see now it looks odd. The bbt isn’t always reliable and you were right to keep testing until you got the solid one (sorry I was confused). From the chart it’s odd the bbt went so low though. Did you continue doing the tests inbetween as I’ve had odd results where it hasn’t gone to plan with the clear blue… and I think it’s because of differing LH amounts. As orange flowers suggests it could be possible you ovulated from each ovary. It looks like you’ve maximised your chances of conception anyway… it’s all you can do really so good luck!!

oh thank you! it's so confusing. my temp has been a bit all over the place. it's usually really low, I've never had two peaks though. I know I had two follicals at my scan. so that's possible. thanks for your help x

You can have 2 LH peaks in a cycle several days apart. I believe ovulation occurs after the first according to this paper (see fig 2): fertstert.org/article/S0015.... xx
