9 days of high fertility but no peak ovulation

I’ve started using clear blue digital ovulation tests this cycle. I’ve gotten 9 high fertility days but no peaks. The test line is getting fainter each day so I assume I somehow missed my peak or didn’t ovulate or hormone wasn’t strong enough to detect. Anyone else experience this? I’m on CD14, cycles vary from 22-26 days

Those tests never ever work for me, none of the brands do but if I use the more expensive ones then like you I get the high fertility days but no peak. I can tell when I ovulate by tracking basal body temperature, and the doctor can see that I ovulate from blood tests or scans, but in years of trying every brand of test I've never managed to get a positive on one of those urine test sticks. For some women they just don't seem to work. Although having said that, personally I have a 26 day cycle and I ovulate on day 16 so you could try leaving it a little longer.

Thank you so much for your reply! I’ve been also tracking my bbt this cycle but it’s not giving me more answers right now or I’m still learning how to understand it. I’m going to continue using the ovulation tests until I run out, to make sure I finish this cycle and don’t miss anything there and may try a cheaper brand next time to see if there’s a difference. My CM has been white creamy a little watery and a little stretchy but not egg white so something has been happening. Just trying to not obsess over all of this and stay relaxed & positive! It’s really reassuring reading your response and knowing I may not be the only one.

My cycles range from 22-28 luckily I know when I ovulate due to ovu pains, Ovulation tests I rarely got strong lines and only got 2 line once the day before ovu so catching the peak was tricky. I did BBT for a while saw the dip and rise was interesting to do. If your unsure just make sure you have sex every other day straight after period til about cd 16 for me a 26 day cycle I'd ovulate on cd 13.

Thanks for your reply! I can't believe I didn't come across this when researching, as far as I knew everyone was able to detect peak at one point or another if they were ovulating. I got some cramps a few days ago and suspected it could have been ovulation but can't confirm. 3 cycles in ttc and still learning so many new things!

What I look for is EWCM a couple of days before ovulation that usually gives me the heads up ovulation will happen in a couple of days then I get cramps. Then I base my period due date from ovulation as my luteal is normally 12/13 days. I had no clue either and I have had 2 kids before ttc my 3rd it's been a long learning experience but very interesting learning about my body.

I normally notice EWCM but never thought of connecting it to my ovulation, this cycle I took notice of my CM and it was very similar to EWCM but unsure if that was it exactly. I agree it's super interesting but can feel very overwhelming so am trying to stay as calm as i can whilst also trying to enjoy the process

I’m 8w pregnant but it’s been a long bumpy road I’ve had 3 mmc and 2 chemicals in the process hopefully all is good this time. Good luck ttc hope would take too long x

Congratulations and i'm sorry to hear about how difficult it's been for you. I've had one chemical and am hoping for the best going forward xx

Opk are strange. I used the clear blue ones and had the flashing smiley flashing sir sometimes 10 days before getting a solid smiley face. I decided to start using them again recently after my mmc as I wasn’t sure if I would ovulate amd I had empty circle for 4 days and I thought I’d randomly test last night and apparently I had peak as I had static smiley face.

I think if you can test multiple times a day then great and if you can dtd even better.

Unfortunately I did t dtd last night as my husband was told he maybe made redundant yesterday so was super stressed. Thankfully he still has a job but now I’m gutted we didn’t dtd last night as we’ve missed it.

Glad to hear your husbands job is okay! You could still have a chance of conceiving now, although potentially lower than you did a few days ago. The joys of tracking everything!

Did you hold your pee in for several hours before testing at different times of the day other than first morning pee? My tests come out fainter when I tested in the evenings so I only do it in the mornings although I know that I might miss my peak if it’s short and happens during the rest of the day

The test kits tell you to use the longest pee, usually, and I find if I do that I miss it. Over half of women have their LH peak start in the early hours of the morning between 4-8 am so I purposely don't use the pee from overnight (which for me is usually at 4am!) and wait until I get out of bed at 6.30 to pee again. Then I catch it. I have tested a day later than I usually get my LH one or two cycles if I forgot and sometimes I get a positive and sometimes not (even if I have other signs of ovulation), so for me I think it sometimes does not last quite 24h, which is normal. I read some papers on LH secretion and the idea we all get a short sharp peak as shown on the OPK packet is nonsense - LH has all kind of different secretion patterns and it is possible you just don't get as high a peak as ladies who have a single peak.

Hi I started using these this month too for my natural cycle FET. Long story short, no dominant follicle on scan and Then I started getting high fertility so got all excited again, went to my next scan with high hopes only to be told my ovaries were fast asleep and hormone levels only rising slowly. My FET was cancelled and I still have high fertility on the tests but clearly aren’t going to ovulate this month. Starting to wonder if I ovulate any month but trying to focus on my 14 Frosties instead.x

I am experiencing this issue too with my cycles. I'm all over the shop since having various issues this past year and a half and I've been using OPK and never got a peak result?! They're always just high and sometimes low, not really in an order so I don't know what to do!

My BBT is showing I may have ovulated on 11/10/20, but the app I use is saying I ovulated 18/10/20 despite the app having all my BBT and OPK results. I'm starting to think it's as clueless as what I am about it.

It's not even like it's close to each other so I'm just winging it and trying to have sex every five days. I keep finding myself Dr Googling and ending up with answers that I could have PCOS? Is this something you guys suffer with - but would that give high LH Levels??? So many questions! Why is being a woman so difficult haha! ✨✨

I totally feel your pain! I went overboard yesterday and downloaded more apps to track my cycle to see if they give me more insight - I know that will probably be unlikely. And of course I love Dr google a bit too much 😅

I don't have any issues that could affect my fertility that I am aware of. If you've been having problems for a while you should speak to your doctor about it.

My bbt isn't showing much of a rise which makes me think i didn't ovulate at all. So many questions, so little answers. I think bbt is a good indication, better than the app so i would trust that more. Maybe you've got a short peak window and it wasn't captured by the OPK? I'm wondering whether I've got low progesterone levels but when looking at the symptoms I can only relate to 1 or 2. I wish I had an idea of how complicated this would be before starting ttc!

Update: I took 2 different ovulation tests in the afternoon today and got my peak result on CD17! I’m so shocked, I was convinced I missed it or the test didn’t show. I’m a little worried that my luteal phase will be too short but here’s to hoping it works out ✨

Hi, I once had 9 days of high fertility but no peak face one month...I called the clear blue customer service team and they advised I was using too dilute a urine. Basically my little boy would wake me up every night in the middle of the night...I would go for a wee...then when I used the test sticks in the morning a few hours later it wasn't an "accurate" sample... Hope that makes sense. That's what happened to me x
