Hello, when I did one of my cycles, the buserlin delayed my bleed for a few days, so my baseline scan was moved to a few days later too. I’d speak to the clinic and let them know, they’ll probably just move your scan appointment. Hopefully it won’t be cancelled 🤞🏽 But others may have different experiences x
Sorry, no I didn’t take Zoladex - just buserelin. I always found that being on the meds plus just general anxiousness for the upcoming cycle just naturally delayed my bleed (annoyingly!) x
On one of my rounds I ovulated late so did not start bleeding until around day 15/16 after starting buserelin. This was my successful round so no harm done! They will likely just ask you to come back a week later. xx
I did not take Zoladex, just went straight onto the buserelin. I don’t know how it would affect timing of a bleed, just wanted to reassure you the buserelin bleeds can be variable and I doubt they’d cancel, just reschedule your scan. Good luck! Xx
hey! im currently in the same situation! this is my first round of ivf, im taking bruserlin have been for 16 days now I have my baseline scan tomorrow morning I did call clinic to say theirs no sign of my monthly and they told me to still come in... I don't bleed the best of times anyway so that's not helping! never wished to bleed so much in my life haha! hope we get sorted! keep me updated! good luck! xx
Maybe I’m wrong but I thought buserelin is for down regulation, which simulates the menopause, therefore you won’t get a period?
I’m due to start buserelin on day 21 for the first time. Last time I was prescribed prostap for the same thing at a different clinic, and I didn’t get a period at all which was expected. X
Hi I too took zolodex however I took it for nearly 6 months prior to my first cycle and then I started my buserelin it was day 21 but i didn’t have a period in fact that was what they were trying to do, avoiding me bleeding as I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. Again with my second cycle I spent 3 months on zolodex and then went on buserlin again day 21 and still no period for the second round but my clinic were not expecting me to bleed.
Hey, thanks for replying! I am also on Zoladex for the same reason. When I rang up they didn't seem to know if I need to have a period or not! Its reassuring it was the case with you to not have a period. Did you have any success from your cycles? x
We were never expecting high numbers due to my low AMH from the endometriosis and adenomyosis. With my 1st round we managed to get 3 eggs all 3 fertilised but only one normal this went on to a day 5 and I had a transfer unfortunately unsuccessful. 2nd round pretty much the same 3 eggs only 2 fertilised and only one normal again went onto a day 5 embryo I decided to freeze this one and look at a frozen transfer.I was only getting one from each cycle so was feeling disappointed but reassured the one I did get was of good quality. I then conceived naturally 2 months later before I started my 3 rd cycle. I currently have a 3 week old little boy, my miracle. I don’t know how but I believe a combination of zolodex stims and the ivf process helped. I was told my chances were 1% of success. So please keep your faith and hope that you will get your miracle.
Thank you I feel very blessed & incredibly lucky to have him. I think what I felt was the zolodex and stims supported getting the one top quality egg / embryo. I also took DHEA and Ubiquinicol
My period was also delayed taking Buserelin. I think the anxiety and stress also didn't help 🤦🏼♀️ give your clinic and call and I'm sure they will just move things back a little. Hopefully it won't be cancelled. Wishing you all the very best x
