Buserelin and late periods

Evening ladies

I am day 12 into Buserelin injections with long protocol

I was told to expect AF, but this has still not come despite all the usual cramps, sore boobs etc. It's 5 days late.

Has anyone got any experience here? I have my baseline scan tomorrow and am worried this might affect things :( so I'd like to be prepared if so

TIA xx

Buserelin often delays AF by a few days. Also, if you ovulated late in your cycle for whatever reason it can really delay it. My first round it was I think 3 days late. My second round I ovulated late, 2 days before starting buserelin, and period was then almost a week late even accounting for late ovulation. Had to downreg 3 weeks but that round got us our little boy after a fresh transfer so defo did not hurt xx

Hello, wishing you all the luck in the world with your treatment. At my clinic I have my baseline scan 7 days after my bleed, rather than before it. I’m not sure if this is standard practice or not, so just make sure you tell your clinic when your last period was. My period is also normally late when I take buserline too. If it’s too early for your baseline tomorrow I imagine they will just book you in for another weeks time :) x

Thank you for your kind wishesFingers crossed for just another week, of course I was over dramatising it in my mind and worrying it would be cancelled!! x

Bless you, it is really hard not to worry. I’m confident everything will be ok as it just sounds like your body needs a little bit longer. Thinking of you tomorrow xxx

On my second round I had a scan after 2w and of course had not bled yet. They just told me to come back in a week, by which time the bleed had happened and was mostly done xx
