Hi ladies,

I am a 44 year old with 3 month old next to me .. started ivf at 41 almost 42 with AMH of 0.17.. 2 years,10 rounds later ..it was tough but worth it all ..having every single embryo pgt tested and only after starting to take COQ10 and DHEA for 6 months after a new doctors recommendation .. it worked ! My AMH did go up ever so slightly after taking them btw..enough to get one good embryo..all it takes.
Thank you for replying Holly and congratulations, this gives me so much hope! I took DHEA and COQ10 for 3 months before my last cycle though and it seems to have still gone down so I worry that the dosage i took of DHEA was possibly too high, but need to stay hopeful, you're right it does just take one!
I will say the vitamins worked (or we got the one good embryo) just at the 6 month mark of taking them (we went the first 5 rounds not knowing about them with a different doctor) .. I read online that it takes 6 months for them to work exactly ..also pgt testing key ..never had a single transfer (which can waste precious time if doesn’t work) ..until we got one good embryo..also with era test round for perfect timing as only one.
Hey, I’m still on the IVF journey but I’m 35 with an AMH of 1.3 and I managed to get 10 eggs on my first round (4 embryos) and 7 eggs retrieved this morning. My consultant is brilliant and has reassured me it can absolutely happen.
It’s taken me a long time to accept, but it’s just a number. They work with the number, but don’t let it define you. You can definitely still do it 👍🤞 xxx
Please don’t give up my friend was told at the clinic she Didn’t have any eggs and her AMH was 0.1! Then low and behold she actually has two baby girls now as she got pregnant naturally!!! I wouldn’t let that get you down! X
Quick comment I had something similar when I tested AMH around ovulation. I retested 3 times following my very low result and I was roughly back to where I had been before. For older or DOR women there is strong evidence that you need to do AMH day 2-4 to get most accurate AMH results. Have a look at dates and see if it's worth retesting?
Good Luck!
Hi, the only important thing is the quality. I was able to get only 4 eggs and one of them is my 5 weeks old son. Good luck!🍀❤️
P.s. As a low responder, during the stimulation I took two 0.5 mg tablets of steroid called dexamethasone each day ( according to this article), and I’m positive it made a huge difference, comparing to the previos 2 cycles... academic.oup.com/humrep/art...
Hello, I was at 1.9 a year before even starting IVF, got pregnant twice naturally in the year inbetween, unfortunatelly both MMCs, so ended up in IVF with pgt testing. Not sure how low my measurement was when starting IVF but probably further down. Don’t think DHEA was what helped me as only started taking that 2 weeks before starting the first cycle, out of which we are currently 30 weeks along. Two more frosties in the freezer. Not easy and numbers are not great in cycles but definitely possible. xox
As others have said, AMH can vary wildy. I've heard some people get 3 tests over a month and then take the average. Mine has gone both down and up over the course of a few years. It's also best used alongside Antral Follicle Count (AFC) for a better predictor of response to stimulation. All that said its hard not to feel disheartened but as others have said it really isn't the be all and end all.
