Embryo glue

What is everyone’s thoughts on embryo glue really working? My last two transfers have failed, x1 fresh x1 frozen, I had glue for both. Does it really help or not really? Going into our third transfer in the next couple of weeks so need to decide if try glue again. Our embryos don’t even seem to be implanting so not sure it’s even really helping.

I paid for embryo glue on my first fresh transfer as compared to the other costs it wasn't much! That transfer wasn't successful and by the time I had my FETs the clinic said they'd stopped using glue as there wasn't the evidence for it. My 5th transfer worked (4th FET) and I'm now 35 weeks pregnant. Didn't have the glue for any other transfers. Having it did make me feel like I'd done all I could to help implantation but in my experience it didn't work

This is really interesting thank you, I think I’ll give it a go without the glue, may as well mix it up seeing how it doesn’t seem to be helping at the moment! X

Sorry to hear about your previous transfers 💔

I don’t think embryo glue has much evidence to say it works, and what there is seems to be circumstantial…

If it’s not worked this far I think I’d concentrate on what other things could be tried instead xx

Thank you, I think I’m leaning towards not having it this next transfer and trying it without it see it makes a difference worth a shot! X

Hi PrincessGurn. If you have a look at the HFEA website hfea.gov.uk there is a piece about treatment add-ons to read. Diane

Hi Princess,I had embryo glue on every single one of my transfers, 7 in total: 1 son, 2 miscarriages, 4 BFN. So I think it does not work. I think the fact that I have a son is just because he was a very strong and healthy embryo, nothing else.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your honesty. This is what I suspected. The glue doesn’t change if the embryo is healthy or not, so it seems little point in having it. It will stick when it’s the right one to stick x
