We’ve today had our follow up appointment after our first fresh round ended with a BFN. We’re going for a medicated FET in Aug/Sept (depending when AF comes) and we’ve been offered embryo glue (at a cost of £150 (we’re having treatment through NHS)). Has anyone opted for embryo glue and what was the outcome of the cycle? I know the HFEA website rates embryo glue as amber but just wanted to hear some real life experiences if poss! Thanks all x
Anyone opt for embryo glue? 🤷🏼♀️ - Fertility Network UK
Anyone opt for embryo glue? 🤷🏼♀️
We’ve had embryo glue in four transfers and two of those were bfps. The HFEA have it as an Amber add on, meaning that it’s shown some positive results but more research is needed xx
Hi hunny I’d be interested to know everyone else’s response to this too, but our NHS clinic have said as were NHS funded for our first round were not even allowed to pay for extras as I was interested in the embryoscope x x x
Our first cycle we didn’t use embryo glue and got BFN then our second cycle we did use embryo glue and got BFP. When we try again for our third cycle I would defo use it again
Good luck xx
My daughters clinic uses it every time but don’t charge you for it. We didn’t realise until we asked about it on the last round. She has had 3 BFP but unfortunately lost a baby at xmas xx
I’m sorry to hear about your daughter’s loss. I hope things are going ok for her xx
Interesting that her clinic doesn’t charge for it. I think it’s something I’m willing to try, but just interested in what others experiences were. Thanks for the message 😊 x
Ahhhhh ❤️ I’ve just looked at your page and wanted to say a massive congratulations to your daughter (and to you)! 😊👍 it’s so lovely to see positive posts xx
For our first cycle we didn’t use it and got a BFN and second cycle we did and got a BFP. My son is now 9 months so definitely a positive experience for us. Good luck!
Hi can report my daughter used the embryo glue and her IVF worked and she is now 15 weeks and all looking good don't know whether the glue helped but it might have good luck x
Our NHS clinic use it as standard, which must mean they have had more success with it than without it.
Didn't use embryo glue on first 2 cycles and bfn, we did on our third and only FET and I'm currently nearly 24 weeks pregnant. I say go for it if you have the extra cash. Wishing you the best of luck. X
We had embryo glue and got a BFP. It was our first, and only, attempt, so I have nothing to compare to, but, our embryologist said there's evidence to suggest it does help - and I know she wasn't trying to sell us something as we had our round on the NHS so it was thrown in by the clinic - they wouldn't have done that if they didn't think it would help xx
Congratulations - that’s great you got a BFP on your first and only attempt! 😊 thanks, I didn’t realise some NHS clinics use it as standard so that has swayed my mind xx
Thank you! It was a private clinic but an NHS round - but I asked if I could pay separately for the embryo glue, and they told me they would throw it in anyway as it improved rates xx
Thank you, I have read that article which definitely gave me second thoughts on using it...but ultimately I think I’d like to try it! It’s a very interesting piece though xx
I had it as standard on my nhs round and have two lovely little girls one from fresh and one from frozen xx
