We are preparing to start medication for a frozen egg transfer. We have been offered embryo glue as part of our treatment. We are currently undecided whether to go ahead or not.
It would be great to gain thoughts and opinions; positives and negatives about the add on.
Is the success rate higher from choosing this add on or is there no difference?

we got positive from fresh transfer no glue (ended in chemical) and used glue with our two frozen transfers and have two boys from these. We said it’s cheaper than a new cycle so went for the add ons, was worth a shot!
I was offered this for the first time in my first DE transfer -I had quite a few failures with OE and was never suggested. We didn't use it for the first transfer which failed but decided to use it for the second DE transfer which was my first ever positive test. Not sure if it made a difference or just luck..we thought it wasn't very expensive and we felt we were trying something different. Not sure about the success rates but my clinic said they decided to start offering it because there was a new study ( the first not from the company that produces the embryo glue) showed some benefit when using it.
hfea.gov.uk/treatments/trea... This is the HFEA comment on Embryo glue. My clinic offer it as standard (no extra cost) - my first transfer ended in a chemical, my second transfer a BFP and I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant.
My clinic used embryo glue as standard so i never looked into it or thought too much of it! I had a fresh and frozen embryo transfer with the glue and got pregnant both cycles, hope that helps and good luck xx
the evidence isn’t strong enough yet one way or the other that it helps is my understanding BUT I haven’t seen any evidence that it hinders (double check with your clinic though) so if they are giving you it as part of the package for free I would probably take it. If it’s an extra charge then that’s a bit different xx
My 1st cycle without glue was unsuccessful. The 2nd one with it was a chemical, 3rd with the glue was successful. I think the glue (as well as a few other tweaks) definitely did it for me and i will be choosing embryo glue for my next transfer too.
Hi, we used embryo glue for our 5th transfer and im currently 20 weeks pregnant after 4 previous losses with no glue, i strongly believe it helped in our case with a few extra medication also & would use it again if decided to try again xxx
It worths every penny of it, had my 1st ever positive after 9 failed ivf rounds. It was the biggest fat positive I have ever had in my whole life. Presently with so much anxiety as I had spotting yesterday for few hours, but I’m believing and rest assured my joy will not be cut short🙏
I looked into this as I thought it meant they stick it to you endometrium with a glue, I thought wow this could impact my chances if it implanted away from my Adenomyosis. But actually it isn't a glue that sticks your embryo in a certain place, it is a type of culture medium that may resemble the inside of your uterus more than what they use as standard. Best wishes
Hi had 5 failures with no glue. Two successful with glue. Also changed other things so no clue if it helped. But certainly didn't harm. There is some research saying there might be a slight statistical advantage to using it!
hello. I had 2 failed cycles before taking it. The 3rd one was successful and now I have a 3 year old. Don’t know the success rate but it was successful for me.
