Embryo Glue and Probiotics

Hi just looking for some advice and past experiences with both embryo glue and probiotics.

So we have just had our consultation for our third FET which will be our last Frosty from our NHS round. I asked the consultant what he would recommend going forward and if we will be doing anything different for this transfer. He believes that mediation and doses were likely correct considering blood results and that I got a BFP (sadly didn’t continue) but he said that probiotics would be something to consider as this can sometimes help, and also to use embryo glue (self-funded). Does anyone have experiences with embryo glue and feel this helped them with their successful transfer? And is it quite common to use probiotics before transfers just incase? But then I’m questioning why hasn’t his been suggested by my clinic before.

Thank you :)

Curious to see people's answers re: embryo glue! I'm in the tww for my first fet and used probiotics this round. Just anecdotally, I feel much better on the probiotics, so hopefully they work!

Hi which probiotic you are using from where you got. Please guide I need as well. I am also going for second round. First badly failed 😞

I am curious to see any answers. I am just starting long protocol for my second round of IVF. We are now self funded and have gone all in and paid for embryo glue too. I chose to do this as on my last round I made it all the way to transfer but it just didn’t stick, so I thought I would give it a go x

We used embryo glue in last transfer and we got a bfp. Eventually lost twins but I think the embryo glue worked.

I have taken probiotics for three years now. Prior to taking them my microbiome test was really bad. After a year taking them I saw huge improvement. I don't think there is any harm in taking them. Gut health is important for overall health.

Don't know re probiotics but I wouldn't have thought they could hurt. Re embryo glue - had two fresh transfers without and they ended early, but they did start as BFPs. Then had it with my first FET and got a BFP (at 3dp5dt!) and that one is my daughter. My clinic use it as standard on FETs and you don't have to pay for it - the blurb said there's little evidence for it but as there was some evidence it worked and didn't hurt, they used it unless you opted out. *However* my next FET with them using it was a BFN. So it definitely didn't do any harm or hinder implantation but it didn't work second time so it doesn't cure other issues. So if offered for free or low cost I would use it again, but not sure how I would feel if I was asked to pay a lot for it.

I have no idea about whether or not it made the difference but we used embryo glue on my last transfer (which was second FET with current clinic but 9th FET overall) and I'm now 14 weeks pregnant. This was the first time out of all of these transfers that I even got implantation! I also used probiotics for this one and the first one with the new clinic. The other thing we added to most recent transfer was an HCG wash at the time of transfer. Again, no idea if either of them influenced the positive result.

Hi!

Not sure if it was coincidence or not but I took probiotics (after EMMA/ALICE tests) and used embryo glue for my successful FET, which led to my now very bouncy ten month old.

If you can afford the embryo glue, I’d go for it and the probiotics are £15 from Boots.

Good luck x

Thank you for all of your replies, it’s always good and reassuring to hear other experiences. I will definitely do more reading on the embryo glue, this would be payable and the consultant seemed to think around £130, but it is absolutely worth a shot for sure! I will also look at purchasing some probiotics on the run up to my transfer. Thanks again xx

Hi! I think probiotics made the difference for us during our last FET. I took both oral (biogaia) and vaginal (canesfloor) ones. Very best of luck!
