Hi,
Just a quick question. We’re due to start ivf hopefully early next year and I’m not taking any supplements at the minute. I have endometriosis and blocked tubes so not sure what the best supplements to take are? Any advice? Xx

Hi hun, I saw a Nutritionist who recommended Nutri-Advanced as a good brand, they do a pregnancy multi-essentials which I've been taking (for pre-conception as well). She also recommended Wild Nutrition and their pure strength Omega 3, which I've also been taking. I don't have endo so these are just general recommendations for pre-conception and pregnancy. Before my IVF egg collections I also took Pharma Nord Bio-Quinone active Q10 gold. I think the advise in general is if possible start supplements 3-4 months before an egg collection. There is a book called 'It Starts with the Egg' which has lots of advice about supplements and lifestyle before/during IVF (it was this book that recommended the Bio-Quinone) - I did find this book really helpful, and at the same time for me felt I needed to pick and choose a bit which advice I followed and not get too worried about being perfect (some of what she suggests is quite full on). Wishing you all the very best of luck hun.
I took 400mg ubiquinol, vitamin d, vitamin C, 500mg folic acid, NAC, Inofolic alpha. Also both me and my husband took Proceive. It was quite a cocktail but they helped! 😂 I also recommend weekly acupuncture! Best of luck! x
You should definitely start asap as it takes roughly 3 months for your body to start absorbing. I took fertility bud because my GP made me aware of synthetic folic acid being rejected by some women’s bodies so so I was on the hunt for naturally occurring folic acid and fertility bud had those and a good mix of multi vitamins. Definitely felt better after being on these compared to pregnacare.
Previous post mention many of the supplements that are important but remember a good & varied diet is also important- plenty of fresh fruit & veg etc -avoid too much sugar processed food ready meals Drink plenty of clear fluids - little tea & coffee or switch to decaff Be sure to be taking folic acid 400 mcg daily This info is available on htpps://fertilitynetworkuk.org fact sheet re dietary information
Good luck with your treatment
Janet
Hi hun , I use to use pregnacare but was told this is synthetic as I have a friend who works with vitamins and medicine . I’ve been using this one lately and it’s amazing abit more pricey but much better for you !wildnutrition.com/collectio... Xx
