Just wondering if you can advise. I had my right tube removed 3 years ago and just had a scan before doing another cycle. They’ve said that I have another hydro in the right tube? Is this possible? I know the consultant left a stub for bloody flow but could this be it or not? Thanks for your advice.

Do you have a scan you can share with an expert doctor? I had my left tube removed (the whole thing) and it would be unheard of to have a hydrosalpinx in a tube that doesn’t exist? X
Sorry to hear this. I don’t have the exact same experience but I did have my left tube removed during ectopic surgery and then my right one removed in July because what they thought was a hydro appeared on the scan. It turned out to be a cyst which had grown at the end of the tube and it would’ve been too complicated to remove just the cyst. I wonder, could it be a cyst which has grown at the stump of the tube? 🤔 whatever it is, I hope you get it sorted. X
Thanks for your reply Lou… I’ll need to have a follow up ASAP and for the consultant to have a look at my original surgery notes from my lap. They said the ovaries looked fine and no cysts so I honestly don’t know what it is. My other thought was that maybe the ‘stub’Of my tube looked like a hydro.. i really don’t know… it’s just very odd!! If it is a cyst that has grown on the stub end… do you think I’d need surgery to remove or could I go ahead with a cycle with it still there? Xxx
I had a lap in 2017 and the cyst wasn’t there at that time on my right tube. The only issue with you not having it investigated/treated first is if it is leaking fluid. But I totally understand you not wanting to postpone the cycle, too. Really hope it turns out to be nothing and you can go ahead with your cycle as planned. Keep us posted! 💕
Hi Lou… thought I’d update. So I had a call from the consultant who now wants to do a hycosy. She thinks it maybe fluid in the stump that was left after my tube removalOr adhesions. So they just want to check and if all is ok the fluid shouldn’t interrupt the uterus or something along those lines… so we shall see.
No worries lovely…. Had a big of a nightmare…. Was all booked for hycosy last week…. Travelled all the way to London to be told by the consultant that they got it wrong… I don’t need a hycosy and the fluid they saw wouldn’t interfere with a transfer due to the location of it not getting in the uterus etc and as that side was removed all good to go ahead with a transfer…..I was fuming tbh but also glad that someone read my notes properly!! How are you doing? Xxx
