First thank you for encouraging me to ask the right questions about add ons to my NHS clinic (but doing a private treatment). I have had 3 failed transfers and never even fallen pregnant let alone miscarried in 8yrs of trying!
I was brave and asked the clinic about the add ons and thankfully they already used embryo glue but didn't offer embryo scratching. Dr said the amount of progesterone doesn't make a difference to the embryo implanting if you haven't had a miscarriage. However, will prescribe me injections if I wanted. They always only give Cyclogest x 2 daily. Reading a few forums and conversations on here seems like everyone is on Lubion and some people on Prontogest. I've never been on either so any advise on what to do next would be great. Shall I just settle for Lubion? Push for Prontogest? Sounds soooo painful😖 how many days before embryo transfer do you start?

Just reading your post you may wish to ask about the ERA/Emma/Alice tests as they can indicate if you're receptive at the "standard" time of transferring or not...plus tests for bacterial optimisation etc.
If you've never had a positive this may be worth checking out if you're able to, it's an expensive test but can help test, and it also tests your levels of progesterone at the time of the mock transfer...
I had two chemicals, then asked to be put on progesterone pessaries vaginally and my doctor recommended lubion too, and that transfer was successful. My progesterone levels were always fine soy doctors didn't think it would make any difference but I had had problems (including spotting on normal periods) that suggested progesterone resistance/oestrogen dominance. My two chemicals I was on cyclogest rectally but there's evidence using the pessaries vaginally gets it to the womb instead of just in the blood. I haven't tried prontogest and for me I think the pessaries (vaginally) were most important but as I was on lubion too I can't say that it wasn't also that. Best of luck!
For my 3rd and only successful transfer we added lubion once a day. It doesn’t hurt as long as you warm the vial under your armpit for around 10 mins before injection. I also had the scratch before that transfer and I’m sure it helped clear everything out.
Thanks for the tip, going to remember to do that. Anything to make it easier. I asked about endometrial scratching but they said they don't offer that.
Hi Sumadi. Lubion has become more popular, but can be a bit painful. Pessaries are the most common form of progesterone to be prescribed as I'm sure you know. My feelings are that you probably need some form of progesterone. Your body stops absorbing most of it once your own body produces enough of its own. Hope all goes well with whichever you choose. Hello DianeArnold I'm interested in your reply about absorption. For my previous pregnancy I was in cyclogest x2 a day and had a girl. My second pregnancy, first attempt at IVF on 2 a day I bled before test day. As a result they gave me 3 a day for my next transfer. I'm now 7 + 5 and have been discharged by the clinic following a successful pregnancy scan. But now I'm wondering if 3 us too much? Can you take too much progesterone?
Hi Ala. The progesterone you have been having is to support you until your own body takes over. You will only absorb what you need. Most clinics advise using progesterone for the first 12 weeks of prenancy, with a slow tailing off during the last 2 weeks. Hope all continues as it should. Diane
