I had a frozen Embryo transfer in December I spotting throughout the tww. I will be having my 2nd FET one AF starts. I will be on cyclogest 400mg and 25mg Lubion injection once a day. Do you think this is enough progesterone? How much progesterone was you on during your treatments?
Cyclogest (1x400mg) and Lubion inject... - Fertility Network UK
Cyclogest (1x400mg) and Lubion injection once a day, is this enough progesterone...please advise!!
Hi SerenityHop. That's about an average dose of both drugs. If you're worried, then mention it to your specialist in view of the spotting you had last time. Good luck! Diane
Hi Diane, Thank you for responding. I will contact my clinic to raise my concerns and hopefully put my mind at ease x
Hi Serenity,
I was on exactly this dose for my fresh transfer of an excellent blast. I started spotting day 10 and full bleeding from day 11. I did have a positive test on OTD but had a missed miscarriage a week after. The bleeding continued throughout.
This time I was on PIO injections and i am currently pregnant. For me PIO work best. I bled early on pessaries alone and pessaries +Lubion in different transfers.
Some ladies on here posted a lot about progesterone, my clinic wouldnt test but I have heard the PIO are a really good form.
Hope this helps, do discuss with your clinic x
Good luck
Hi Sk1817,
Thank you for responding. Sorry about your missed miscarriage.
My clinic has not mentioned the PIO to me and they also do not test progesterone levels either. I am wondering if I could possibly get this checked myself.
I am really happy the PIO worked well for you and hope all goes well with your pregnancy! 🤗 xx
Thankyou! Progesterone in Oil injections are intramuscular. They are a little difficult as they go into the rear end or upper thigh and cause some discomfort. Many clinics don't use them anymore but my research indicated they are still hailed as the gold standard for progesterone. This was my 4th transfer so I wanted to give it the best possible shot. This is my experience below
1st fresh cycle - BFN- pessaries only- spotting day6 all the way to OTD
1st FET - BFN - PIO only- no spotting though
2nd fresh transfer - Lubion and pessary- BFP- spotting from day 10 - lost pregnancy
2nd FET - PIO - BFP- currently 8weeks x
Oh right that's probably why they have never mentioned it before. Did you request the PIO or did your clinic offer it to you?
Yes definitely got to give it your all. This will be my second frozen transfer and I really want to give it my all and want to be sure I am at least on the right dose of medication cause I started spotting within a few days of transfer.
Hi SerenityHop... In February I had my 4th FET transfer... I was on 2 x 400mg Cyclogest... my progesteron level was checked straight after the transfer - it was 47 and the clinic wanted minimum 50- so I was prescribed Lubion injections.... I am currently 14 weeks pregnant...Not every clinic check progesteron level... You can book it in a private laboratory (much cheaper then what clinics tend to charge us) for your peace of mind... I repeated progesteron test after my BFP (privately)
Hi Urszula,
Its so good that you had your progesterone levels checked after transfer. I am hoping my clinic call me back tomorrow and I will also if they can check it. If not I will find out how I can get it done privately. Thanks for responding and congratulations on your BFP! X
I’m on lubion and cyclogest twice a day. I had spotting with my first cycle so added on lubion and haven’t spotted since xx
Hi Muststayhopeful,
Thanks for responding, very reassuring and happy that you have not had any spotting this time round thats really positive! X
