Not a hydrosalpinx

2 failed ivfs, did era and ngs tests and waiting for results. Did a hysterosalpinography, doc thought he saw a hydrosalpinx so i underwent laproscopic surgery the next day, turns out it is not a hydrosalpinx, he described it as fluid filled in a gorge. I will speak to him tmr to ger more info. Anyonelse experience something similar - something that looked like a hydrosalpinx on the Hysterosalpingography but wasn't? I cant find much online.

I had this same problem. I was diagnosed with hydrosalpinx but when my specialist checked me on a scan he informed me I just had fluid in my tube which was basically related to my endometriosis. I was so happy this was not the case and I could go ahead with transfer.

I’ve just done a FET and unfortunately I got a negative. I do wonder if this fluid was the reason or if it’s just down to the numbers game of ivf. I have my son who is 10 months and when I did FET with him I had no fluid in my tube so I am worried this might have effected my implantation as I did use a good embryo at 4AA. I’m going to speak to my specialist at my follow up appointment and ask if this fluid in my tube which is supposed to be caused by endo could be the problem.xxx

Thanks for your reply. I kind of wish the tube wasn't taken out as there was no hydrosalpinx afterall - i havent confirmed with the doc but that's pretty much what laproscopy for hydrosalpinx removal is from what i know; i am very curious about this 'gorge filled with fluid' (doc's words post surgery) and if it can show up again and if it affects chances of successful ivf. I will find out tmr.

Just a, quick update - no fallopian tubes removed as the doc saw it wasn't a hydrosalpinx. It was a gap/gorge of fluid infront of the fallopian tube so in the Hysterosalpingography it looked like a hydrosalpinx, doc told me not to worry about it. He drained it and told me it wouldn't affect ivf/pregnancy anyway. They did find a cyst which they took out and sent for histology. And no, i dont have endometriosis.

Hi 2635150. I must admit I wouldn't be happy having fluid in a tube. Perhaps it will drain naturally before any treaatment starts, as you don't want it upsetting any embryo. Let's hope your specialist can put your mind at rest and you can carry on safely. Good luck! Diane

Hello, I was diagnosed with hydrosalpinx too so waited for months for a laparoscopy . I had discharge constantly, watery the ink ink not go through my right tube. Acter surgery the doctor said there was not hydrosalpinx only the tube q bit closed so he opened it. I was very confused ...since tge laparoscopy not so much discharge, I still don't what happened . L I don't think hysterosalpingogram is so easy to readand the laparoscopy is an investigation to check for real how it looks l 🙄hope you get more info xx
