I have had 4 attempts at IVF but none have worked so far and I’m due to start my next round soon (egg collection again). It’s been two years since my last egg collection (we got 10 eggs and 4 blasts) and since then my AMH has dropped so low to 1.3 so the meds are being ramped up.
I’m excited to get going again but just wondered if there are any success stories out there for more than 4 attempts?! I’m 35 and I read a lot of people getting pregnant on the 3rd go (it seems!) and sometimes I just feel a bit like a lost cause.
Just need a bit of reassurance really. Ivf is a lonely place at times isn’t it!
Xx

Hi Catlady. Just wanted to wish you well. It might be worth mentioning low dose soluble aspirin and/or heparin too to ensure good blood flow and prevent clot formation, if not already tried. Diane
Thanks Diane! I was on clexane last time whilst they waited for my blood clotting results to come back but they were all fine so no need for them next time 😊
Hello lovely, nice (kind of) to see you back in the saddle!
It's nice to see that you're excited too ❤️
We had success on our 6th transfer - I'm 22 weeks pregnant now. I think what clinched it for us was a combo of ERA testing (extra 24 hours progesterone), PGS tested embryo and steroids. But if I had to pick one, I'd go steroids as the most important factor to help my immune system lower enough to accept the embryo.
I know there's always a "my friend" story - but my sister-in-law had 8 transfers before her first pregnancy, and her 2nd pregnancy was on her 20th.... xxx
Hey lovely. This sort of question is posted quite a lot so you are not alone! And the great news is the answers are always the same - there is still loads of hope and yes people do go on to get pregnant even if other cycles have failed.
I then always quote about two friends - one had 6 transfers all BFN and then had her son and then her daughter on transfers 7 and 8 (her worst two embryos) and another friend who had 8 failed transfers and then had a her son on her 9th (and last transfer) and then got pregnant naturally (despite being told she couldn't!) a year later and had her daughter!
