Feeling so disappointed and deflated

Hi ladies, had my egg collection this morning and only managed to get one egg retrieved, feel gutted 😫 last time we got 6 and whilst I wasn't expecting the same count (due to age 41) I hoped we'd get more than 1. Feel like our chance is over this time, I know it only takes 1 egg but feel the statistics are not good at all 😭.

I understand how you feel I am on the same page as you I had my egg retrieval on Tuesday only 2 eggs retrieved which only 1 fertilised am to have transfer on Sunday day 5 if all goes well am 42 years 5 months my AHM is 0.45 very very low I try not to think of if and just relax as much as I can but is not easy. Wishing you all the very best

I’m 39 and only managed to get two eggs retrieved in the summer. One made it to the blastocyst stage and was implanted and stuck. I’m 15 weeks now. Don’t lose hope yet. Xxx

Hi Bex i only had one egg to count on and the anxiety of having just one egg to take me thorough was something i was very fortunate that one egg was of highest quality im 39 with endometriosis so it really does only require 1 stay positive 🙏🏻 Are 6 of yours from last collection frozen? X

Hey, that's great you had a high quality egg. The 6 eggs were from last time and only 1 made it blastocyst which sadly resulted in a chemical pregnancy, so only having just 1 this time was a bit of blow. Just hoping this one makes it to transfer day. Thank you and good luck on your journey xxx

43 2 weeks away from 44.. started ivf 41 almost 42 ..with super low ovarian reserve first 4 rounds one egg .. after pandemics shut down here in NY and new doctor .. started taking Co Q10 and DHEA .. next 5 retrieval’s 2-4 eggs per round ..all were biopsied and tested chromosomely ..out if all these rounds one chromosomely good embryo frozen though all other certainly looked good enough day 5 to be tested and frozen but the testing itself was the real key ..due in 3 weeks

Wow congratulations on your pregnancy 🤗, it's great to hear a happy ending gives me some hope. I've been taking coq10 since we started our IVF journey but only introduced DHEA back in June, was hoping for more eggs given the fact I'm taking that but no such luck xx

Once I started taking Dhea read about it online and it said it takes about 6 months of taking it to work and it was on the last retrieval ..at the 6 month mark of taking it .. that got this one and only chromosomaly tested good embryo … so maybe if you wait till 6 month mark ..maybe .

Hi Holly, congratulations on your pregnancy. May I ask if your DHEA and testosterone levels were tested prior to taking DHEA? Mine appear to be normal so I'm hesitant to take it as it might cause the opposite effect but part of me really wants too.

No they were not tested. I have low ovarian reserve and am old lol 43. They are meant to improve both ovarian reserve by amount (well for ivf) and quality. Which no question they did for me .. after 6 months on them got the most eggs for me in 10 rounds done ..4 eggs and the only good embryo in 10 rounds and two years (started at almost 42) .. they are doing c section Monday morning but baby needs a surgery after ..

Oh, hope it's nothing too serious for the baby. I'm still at a loss as to whether I should take it or not. Having EC this week so too late for this round but might research it for our next round in Jan as we want to bank embryos. Hope everything goes well for you and baby xx

I know how you feel. My second I got 6 eggs, two embryos transfered on day two and a BFN. Trying again abroad but didn't respond well to the meds and only had two follicles so cancelled. Trying again (actually started this morning) but that little voice in the back of my mind keeps reminding me I'm 41. Yeah, it only takes one good egg but trying get one is proving difficult. All I can say is try until you feel like you can't continue. That's what I plan to do as I haven't quite got to the point where I want to try DE. Sending you big hugs, chocolate and wine xxx

Sorry to hear your 2 embies resulted in a bfn 😪. That's the thing isn't it you're just so fully aware of age all the time, I'll be 42 in March and I constantly feel like there are no good eggs left 😫. We said we'd give this time a shot and then we may have to move to DE after this try. Think that's what makes it harder as I know if this doesn't work then thats it for my eggs 😭. Hey, no sadly not it was a BFN.

During stimms they could see 3 follicles, but not each follicle has an egg. So for me was just the one egg collected.
