Covid vaccines

Hiya,

I haven’t yet had any covid vaccines, I’ve been a bit worried about getting it with treatment going on but I feel ready to get it now. Has anyone been told not to have it when they are in the middle of treatment? We’re shortly starting meds for a 3rd transfer, 1st fresh ended in MMC at 7 weeks and 1st FET failed sadly, also.

xx

There has been no reported side effects to women who became pregnant after the covid 19 vaccine You should speak to your clinic /GP for their advice All claims have been unsubstantiated you could also look at the latest advice from Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists which regularly updates evidence based informationJanet

Looking around it seems to be that there's no evidence it affects fertility, so it's really only the side effects you need to worry about.

For more info:

hfea.gov.uk/treatments/covi...

britishfertilitysociety.org...

All seems to suggest to time any treatment so that if you have any side effects it won't coincide.

I did IVF and got pregnant - had both vaccines and baby is fine and growing perfectly if that reassures you. I was also worried but so happy I made the right decision as I feel more protected x

I was told not to get it in the middle of treatment by my clinic for 2 reasons-1) don’t get it too close to EC or transfer so they can attribute any side effects appropriately, and 2) if severe side effects they may cancel the cycle due to concern for COVID. This latter point will be very clinic dependent. There is no known adverse effect on fertility itself and hundreds of thousands of pregnant women have now had their jabs with no evidence of negative effects on their pregnancy. I would just talk to your clinic and ask for any advice regarding getting the jab close to treatment xx

Thank you all! I’m not worried about the vaccine effecting the baby or fertility as I’ve done appropriate research and I’m not anti vax, just needed a bit of time to get my head around it. But should we get pregnant this time around, it’s more just how to time it. It seems from the replies though that the only concern is how I will feel after the jabs as I know some people do get side effects so I will bear this in mind. Thank you again for your replies xx
