Cancelled again *covid*

Just wondering if anyone has had their treatment cancelled due to covid again? After the miscarriage I’m now suffering exactly what I suffered in March.. no follow up appointment as it’s all been cancelled again for corona virus 😭

Heya, I had a failed FET in November and was supposed to have a follow up appointment in December but not heard anything back. Chased them today via email and got an auto response saying they’ve had to reschedule and cancel treatments/appointment at short notice due to the covid surge so looks like it’s becoming alot like how it was in March. Im at an NHS Hospital in London so i know its been really difficult with the covid. Hopefully they’ll be able to pick things up soon x

I use Manchester fertility and they are not cancelling any appointments it's just partners are not allowed to attend them with you. How frustrating and upsetting for you. We completed our last cycle under Covid but found it very difficult anyway and the fact my partner could not be with me made it worse unfortunately we were unsuccessful again so we are waiting for a while for try number 3 and hoping this will change.

Ahh it’s awful not having them in there! That happened for us, in the hospital having a miscarriage completely alone 😭 xx

I was due to start treatment in April but dr has said will be likely delayed a few months now. Been waiting since September and referral to fertility was delayed for months as the NHS hospital weren’t taking because of COVID...... nightmare

I’ve been told all nurses have been redeployed to help with corona. I’m also at a London NHS IVF clinic but paying privately. So I’m guessing if you are with a clinic that’s NHS then yes they will most probably be closed. I’ve been told by my doctor they are reviewing this weekly. Next week it’s still closed. Hope that helps. I don’t think it’s a long term and hopefully they will reopen sometime in Feb! X

Oh I hope so! I just need my consultation appointment and back in March when clinics closed when I finally got my appointment After months it was so basic and useless so just worried will happen again! Xx

Yes, I'm in Glasgow and all fresh cycles of IVF/ICSI have been stopped for now. It's so difficult to cope a second time around being cancelled. Hope you're coping alright xx

Hi Lizzy

I am supposed to have my second cycle with the ACS in Glasgow. I had a phone appointment a week ago to discuss what happened with my first cycle and the consultant made no comment or reference to cycles being stopped. I have seen other patients online saying their cycles are cancelled but the ACS website says they are still open offering treatment, updated on 6/1. I wonder why they are not saying it clearly...

Hi Persial I'm at the same clinic, they only had it confirmed at the start of this week that they can't do retrievals, all other treatments carry on as normal, hopefully the delay will just be a few weeks, they probably didn't know this was going to happen when you had your appointment 😟

Thank you try2020 for your reply. I suspect they knew but they didn't want to say anything before there was confirmation. Anyway ..it would be alright if it is only a few weeks however there will be another backlog of cancelled patients and then people like me who were not booked in just yet..

Yes, it's so disappointing. As 'Try' said, it was only officially confirmed this week that they're halting fresh cycles. The website does say 'Update 6th January', however that update was very cheekily posted on the 10th January (by then they knew the update was no longer accurate) so I'm pretty angry with that.

I was reassured by a kind nurse that everyone booked in will be taken in order but as you said, anyone who was in the backlog waiting to start will still need to account for the wait they originally would have had plus the Covid delay now. Not ideal for any of us, given the time sensitivity of infertility 😢 xx

I can totally relate to it. I am doing my IVF/ICSI with NHS in London. I was about to start my treatment this month and they told me they have cancelled all the treatments and not open until Feb/March. How frustrating and upsetting this is..Also agree with Londongirl84, yes all NHS fertility clinics are closed. I am in the same boat.

Same here. I was due to start my IVF treatment this month in a London NHS IVF clinic but everything was suspended again 😭 I do hope they will restart in Feb. So frustrating! x

Tbh I’m just glad I’m not the only one! It was starting to feel like everyone else’s were going ahead apart from mine 😂 xx
