Natural or chemical induced cycle for FET?

What’s everyone opinions on natural cycle with ovulation sticks vs chemical cycle for a FET transfer.

I’ve only done natural cycles but after MMC and BFN today I’m thinking about the next cycle. I’d like to go again this month but the progesterone is playing tricks and I’m now 3 days late. But def not pregnant. As my cycle is off do I need to give it a rest for a month? Or shall I just get back on it. If we miss November I can’t do Dec as my surge is normally the 27th and we are away for xmas. I’m wondering if chemical is ‘safer’??? Clutching at straws here.

Hi Capps8,

sorry to hear that it didn't work again. How many frostiest you have got left?

I had both FETs, natural and with meds. Outcomes were the same so 1st natural - BFN, 2nd natural - BFP but miscarried at 6 weeks, 3rd with meds - BFP but miscarried at 5 weeks, 4th with meds - BFN. I personally preferred natural as it's cheap :) and you don't need to take any meds but it is bad when you are tight with time ( one of my cycle had to be cancelled as I didn't ovulate). FET with meds it's extra money, side affects from drugs (if you have any) but you can plan it well.

I think clinic will advise you can you start right away. We always had some month off but it was either due to pandemic or miscarriage.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Thank you for the insight. I hadn’t clicked about the expensive ontop. We have 3 left and after that we will stop so each is precious to me. We also don’t have a lot of money so every failed round is a blow in every way.

Yes, I know the feeling :( We thought we are going to stop after our 4 frosties, but then we changed mind. 1 fresh IVF and one more FET after - we are still unlucky ;(Just so you know, the average cost for mine medical FET was around £800.
