Neg 11dp 5dp - advised to wait 2 more days??

Hi lovely people,

So today was my OTD (11dp5dt) and unfortunately was stark white negative. I have been told by my clinic that I should cont meds for another 2 days unless my period begins. Isn’t this just false hope and dragging the pain out or is this thing where it’s still possible for late implanter. All the best everyone and I pray for an abundance of positive’s on this site 🥰🥰🥰 I was blessed with a beautiful son almost 1 year against the odds xx

Hey Coles, I was told the same, felt a bit pointless but I guess they need to give it as much of a chance as possible I'm case there was a late implantation?

Hey lovely, I’m so sorry about your negative test. Sending you a big hug.

I always felt like it was pointless doing the extra 2/3 days and retesting when I got a negative on OTD so I completely understand how you feel! However a couple of years ago I was doing a cycle at the same time as a close friend, our test days were one day apart at the same clinic. We both got a negative and told to keep taking drugs for a few more days as neither of us had bled yet. Mine stayed negative but she got a faint positive which is now a very healthy 18 month old.

I think it’s rare but it does happen so there is a reason they tell you give it a few more days xx

As my Dr said to me once, we're talking about a life here, so they need to be absolutely 100% certain it hasn't worked before telling you to stop meds. I don't think I'd be hopeful at this point though. We're trying for a sibling for my IVF 2-year-old and next week will be our 4th transfer this year. It doesn't get any easier. Sending big hugs xxx

I had negative test on day 10dp3dt then low hcg numbers the next day then I had to wait 2 days to redo bloods. I am now a happy obsessed mum to a nearly 2 year old. There's always hope. If this is your time - sending you good growing vibes. If it's a time in the future then I'm sending you some much needed patience as treatment is full of waiting!
