Just wondered if anyone had any experience of 2 day embryo transfers compared to 3 or 5 day. To be honest I hadn’t actually thought about 2 days being an option.
We had 5 eggs collected yesterday and had the dreaded call this morning which we were incredibly nervous about to say that 3 had been good and those 3 had fertilised. They’ve booked me in for a provisional transfer tomorrow but said they’ll call first thing if they think Saturday or Monday would be best.
We didn’t get to this stage last time because all 12 eggs collected failed to fertilise - we’ve gone with ICSI this time. So this is the furthest we’ve ever been in the whole 4 and a half year process so it is a proper good milestone to have reached!
It seems too early really to be having one put back in but reading different things about 2 day transfers so wondered if anyone had any stories.
Thanks in advance

Hi, I know someone who had a 2 day embryo transfer and she now has a 6 year old boy. She had low fertilisation and her clinic decided to put the only fertilised embryo back in on day 2. Good luck!! Xx
I know every person / embryo is different and depends on luck and environment etc but this is really lovely to know 🙏🏻 thank you!
I have seen quite a few day 2 transfer success stories on here, so you are in with a chance!
Whilst a lot of clinics push for day 5 my clinic do day 2, 3 or 5 transfers, and I know a lot of others to. Until a few years ago all transfers were day 2 or 3 and there were loads of IVF pregnancies so its not unusual
I know its not the same but I'm currently 22 weeks with my 3 day transfer. I was gutted when they suggested a 3 day transfer rather than 5 days. But surely the safest place is in you? I had a 3 day transfer due to low numbers and it was clearly visible which was the best quality embryo to transfer so they didn't want to wait. Don't loose hope! How many will they transfer? Wishing you sooooooo much luck. I hope all goes well either tomorrow or Saturday xxx
Congratulations 👏🏼 I have read about potentially a natural environment might be the best, you just don’t know do you, so much just goes to chance. I’ll find out tomorrow I suppose the quality and we’re having a single embryo transfer. Thank you 🤞🏼
Hi, I had a 2 day transfer with icsi, it was a top grade embryo out of 7 and was transferred on day 2, out of the remaining 6 I think 4 of them made it to day 5 but none were strong enough to freeze.
But that tiny little 2 day embryo is now a 13 month old little boy!
Just an update - had a call from the clinic this morning to tell us not to come in today, all 3 embryos are good and they’re going to do a 5 day transfer on Monday instead
OMH!! 5 day transfer and hopefully 2 frosties. Couldn't have had a better outcome. So happy for you both. Relax this weekend. (Although not much else to do in lockdown!). Xx
That would be an absolute dream! But taking it one day at a time ☺️ a weekend of putting Christmas decorations up i think and hopefully the wait until Monday won’t seem too long
