testing during the 2 week wait

hi everyone long time! So I finally did my embryo transfer with a natural cycle this time with an AA 5 day blast (lining was a 9 in comparison with medicated which fell to a 4,5 and was subsequently cancelled) I am day 4 and this waiting is EXCRUCIATING 😫 Just out of curiosity when was the earliest any of you tested at home and had a positive? Fingers crossed all goes well ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oh wow what a difference in your lining! I’ve had a very very faint line at 5dp5dt but wouldn’t necessarily recommend as it predictably sent me loopy 🫠 But you’re gonna do what you’re gonna do so wishing you tonnes of luck whenever you decide! The 2WW is torture, sending you a hug xx

I had BFPs twice on fresh transfers at 5dp5dt, and they progressed past OTD but then ended by 6 weeks. I got a BFP after my first FET at 3dpt (not entirely sure why I tested so early that time - just to get it over with I think as I was convinced it hadn't worked). So I know the best thing for most people is to wait and I am an example of someone who then drove themselves crackers with repeat testing and line progression, but I would have had BFPs at each OTD and for me I wanted to know if there had been implantation or not, so I could understand a bit better if that might have been the problem. I also found the stress of the not knowing the worst bit.

I totally get this as well. Argggh it’s so hard either way!

on my first FET I tested on day 8 and it was negative. Which was awful because then I wasn’t sure and still had to test on test day. The wait IS excruciating but from that take on my subsequent FET I decided I would wait until test day and that was a lot better. I would never test early again.

thank you for this. Did it stay negative after day 8 or become positive

Positivechangeplease profile image
Positivechangeplease in reply toCorchi

negative, which meant continuing to test and just getting more disappointed

my subsequent FET was positive but I had convinced myself I was negative and waiting for test day was absolutely the right thing to do

what day were you told to test on btw?

11 days past transfer day

home test or blood test? Congratulations

ahhh thank you! It’s a long time ago now (2021) so I’m over the other side but just another proof of it working.

It was a home test. They didn’t do blood tests - so it felt a long time until the 7 week scan. I have all my fingers crossed for you 🤞

super happy for you and your bundle of joy. Thanks for your wishes

Wait till your OTD as testing early will only cause you stress and anxiety. There's a reason your clinic has given you a date to test on as anything before that may not be correct. Try and find things to do to take your mind off the wait, read a book, binge watch something, try a new hobby, plan nice treats for yourself etc. Also stay away from Google it is not your friend and will drive you crazy (I know from experience). Good luck x

thank you I needed that. Deep breath’s trying to keep busy. It’s so difficult to wait but I know that you’re right I’d rather just wait and be sure when I get the results instead of second-guessing it whether it be bad news or good news says thanks again.

I tested at 4dp5dt (silly I know) and got a negative I was devastated!!! I had a squinter at 5dp and they got darker from there. I wish I hadn’t tested so early..you then obsess over the lines being darker each day!! Try & hold out to at least 7/8 DP5DT!! Or even OTD I know how hard it is. Wishing you all the luck!

Ha ha ha I can understand....would be hard to walk away with one little lonely embryo there....don't envy you starting again though! We are all good here, pretty full on most of the time but boys are coming on great!!xxx

The earliest I tested was 5dpt as I knew I had a hatching blast and it was positive both times (across 2 cycles). Probably is ok'ish to test after day 6 and I encourage everyone to test early as just in this way I found out about my chemical pregnancies, a problem that later was "resolved". Deep breath and be courageous!! Keeping everything crossed for you my love 😘💗. Awaiting for your positive test result here....

I tested on 3dp6dt and got a negative, it depressed me so much that I refused to test in beta day as I was sure it was negative.. I tested the next day and got my positive 😂. It’s a double edged sword isn’t it. Good luck and fingers crossed

You're back again! Wow! I tested early....I just can't help myself and I got a positive early. I actually used ovulation strips before this but wasn't expecting such a strong line at 6 days. It is always better to wait of course but I just can't!!🤣🤣 Good luck.xx
