2 week wait or 11 days?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help. I had Embryo Transfer today after a short protocol cycle and the doctor has told me to take the pregnancy test on Sunday 8th July. Now I thought that you had to wait for two weeks. I haven’t questioned the doctors decision yet. Has anyone else taken the test after only 11 days? Thanks 😀

Yeah I’m sure it is, I’ve heard other people test on day 11 but every clinic is different x

It’s because in natural pregnancy it’s 2 weeks from ovulation. And in IVF, you can consider egg collection roughly your ovulation date. Therefore if you had a 5 day transfer, you’re already 5 days into your 2ww.

Yeah I’ve had 2 transfers now and been told to test on day 11. New it hadn’t worked though as had my normal period cramps

Mine was 13 days after 5 day fresh transfer. Seems like every clinic gives a different guideline??

Not sure why we are given different waiting times so strange

I’ve taken it after 9 and 10 days and usually have a positive reading if successful by 6 days post transfer. Wishing you the v best of luck xxx

It's because they count the 2w from egg collection as that's when fertilisation happens x

Hiya

Yep. I always test early as I like to know what’s going on rather than have an upsetting bleed creep up on me at work or anywhere equally inconvenient.

I usually test from day 11 and for each of my pregnancies 1 chemical 2 successful, I had a faint line on Day 11. Make sure you use a good brand and do first wee of the day.

By day 11 there is no risk of a false positive as any trace of your trigger shot will be gone.... the only concern would be a false negative as not everyone gets a positive result that early. In any case you’d have to retest a few time before your 7 week scan so there’s no harm.

I cracked at day 6 of my 12 day wait and go a bfp. That was a fresh cycle 5 day transfer but donor eggs so I didn’t have a hcg shot.

With a fresh cycle 11 days will be fine... i did frozen and i wanted until day 14 xx
