I'm in my 2ww and I have some vitamin d tablets 25mg and wondering wether to take them or not, I am also taking pregnacare conception. Did anyone take vitamin d in their 2 week wait with other supplements? Or do you know if this safe?
Thanks x

The 4 failed cycles I took vitamins. I ate fresh pineapple - Brazil nuts - 2/3 boiled eggs and chicken daily (told eat lots of protein). I avoided Diet Coke and tea and sure other stuff - plus keeping feet warm and hot drinks (no ice cold ones) as meant keeping embryos warm and all failed .
5th cycle I did everything as well, I was listening to my doc's prescriptions. I didn't think it was something bad.. My new clinic was just great.. no worries about their recommendations.
I honestly think it doesn't make any diff - or in my case it didn't - but guess you also want to do anything you possibly can to give yourself a chance.
If your clinic didn't say to take anything in particular then I wouldn't bother. They did say the pineapple and nuts etc was rubbish - but I read it and tried it - but as I said all 4 failed and this cycle I did nothing else except that and it worked . Of course a positive thinking and relax. it's the most important in your case.
Obv take folic acid but I popped a pill daily for years thinking what if ... . I knew of a lady who son had spine bif as started taking folic when she knew she was preg at 10w but that was too late .
My cousin and his wife had to TFMR at 22 weeks due to a fatal neural tube defect. This was 16 years ago, before the guidance for folic acid was widespread
She subsequently took folic acid and went on to have three healthy pregnancies (kids are now 15, 13 and 7)
So, do whatever your clinic told, and everything will be ok.
Thanks for your response graceee, I had my egg transfer on Saturday and have my blood test on the 24th august. I've been taking folic acid since I started trying for a baby which has been about 3 years, I started pregnacare at the start of my ivf cycle or just a bit before. I've also been eating pineapple, Brazil nuts, drinking Pom juice, and having healthy smoothies and lots of fruits and greens.
The nurse told me to avoid the usual , undercooked eggs, raw fish etc, she did tell me to eat oily fish and other stuff which I don't actually eat but I believe vitamin d can supply those nutrients. As I'm taking pregnacare and eating quite good I dish the want to over do it and take too much that is my main concern.
Positivity wise, I'm listening and positive affirmations and meditation everyday, usually when I get up and repeat positive things through your the day lol, feels like there's not much else I can do. Really hoping it works as it's my last first and last funded round. X
oh wow, you are good. I'm glad you listen to your midwife. As far as I know it is also good when you avoid cold drinks. Of course it doesn't mean that you have to drink only hot ones but try not drink super cold.
To encourage implantation, certain natural therapies that manipulate the uterus should be avoided.
Most all herbs are fine to continue during the two week wait. It is best to continue on with an herbal program (if you are on one) until pregnancy is confirmed.
look what I found:
Take naps and go to bed earlier. Elevated progesterone levels make you sleepier, so sleep more.
If you love to exercise, down shift. Swap running or spin class for fertility yoga and brisk walks.
Nest. This means nesting for your womb with the suggestions under #1 and actually making your home environment more inviting for yourself.
Nurture yourself, get a massage, book a lunch outing, hot springs soak or easy hike with your besties. Avoid big outings, stay close to home.
p.s. what did you mean by 'my last first and last funded round'?
Sorry I meant my first and last funded round with the NHS. I got one free round of ivf on the NHS but as I don't have any eggs to freeze I won't be able to do another round and will have to pay privately, which will be a bomb! That's why I'm praying this works 🙏🏽 X
omg, tha't really bad, I'm so sorry you don't have any eggs to freeze. Personally, I didn't do my ivf for free... Unfortunately we had to pay for it, I couldn't give my own eggs and we used donor ones.
Of course it's nothing of the sort, at first I was depressed because I didn't expect such scenario of events!
As I understood you want to do it at your place of living right? I mean in case of fail what is not acceptable you will pay to your local clinic?
What your family think about all this? How's your husband feel?
I pray for your positive result, just positive thinking and keep me posted xxx
I took pregncare and vitamin D I also drank loads of pomegranate juice. Good Luck xxx
Hi Buttotn, thanks for your response, did the nurse tell you to take them or did you do any research, I keep reading conflicting things like it can harm fertility but also that it is good for you, so really confused wether to take them or not. The ones I have are Ultra Vitabiotics Vitamin D 25mg . I'm also drinking pin juice! Heard it's really good for the lining and implantation. What was your outcome? Thanks x
For my NHS round we were just told to take folic acid and vitamin d. I did take general conception vitamins on top though. Good luck with the 2WW. Hope you get your BFP. X
I am heading towards my FET and I take vit D3 with lots of other vitamins at the advise of my miscarriage consultant. I will take it throughout the process. It is a vitamin a lot of us are lacking including people who live in the sun. Good luck with everything xxxxx
