Ovaleap or Menopur

Hi.

I am looking for advice please.

What experience does anyone have with Ovaleap & Menopur? Is one more favourable?

I will be taking 300 dose and have to go private as i am doing this as a single parent.

Whilst the outcome is more import then the cost Menopur will be 500.00 cheaper and the clinic initially said Ovaleap but i could have Menopur.

The nurse i spoke with said there isn't a difference but as Oaleap was first suggested as my treatment plan i worried to chose something different.

Hello, in my first egg collection cycle I had Bemfola (which I think if I'm right is very similar to Ovaleap) and then in my second cycle I had Menopur - for me I seemed to get better results with Menopur. I had both cycles quite close together aged 40. I've heard that for some older women Menopur can be better, but on the other hand everyone's experiences seem to be so different, and different people respond better to different medication, without there being an obvious cause (so much of IVF seems to be trial and error, which is one of the hardest things I think). Oh and I think my dose was also 300 for each one.

Thank you for your reply. Just don’t know whether to go with the initial Ovaleap or Menopur! Changed my mind a couple times already in one evening! Thank you and good luck on your journey also ☺️

Hello. I have had a successful round with Benfola at age 39... an unsuccessful round with Menopur at 42 and I am now going through a round with Ovaleap at 43. In all 3 rounds, I have had a suboptimal response. Menopur resulted in a 2 and 4 cell embryo and Ovaleap with 2 x blastocysts... that is not necessarily the drugs though, it is more likely just to be the cycle month. I also had a 300 dose for both. The Ovaleap pen is particulalry pleasing but that's not a scientific reason to go with it. Good luck!

I used menopur, low dose, increased at the end. I was 39, got 5 mature eggs (1 ovary), which resulted in 2 5-day blasts, transferred 1 and got 1 baby so for me it was the perfect result. Of course it can depend, also on the “productivity” of each cycle. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I have used both and got a better result with menopur.I used 267 menopur got 7 eggs, 5 mature, all fertilised and 2 blasts.

I’ve used 350 gonal f which I think is the same as overleap. Got 14 eggs, 9 mature and only 2 fertilised. Transferred both on day 3. BFN

Then last cycle used 450 bemfola and got 6 eggs, 4 mature, 3 fertilised and no blasts.

Next cycle I am going back to menopur.

You will hear of so many different varied results with different protocols.

It also depends on your age and the reason you are doing ivf.

Is this your first cycle?

I would trust your clinics advice. They say it doesn’t matter so maybe go with what they initially advised.
