Left over sealed syringes and needles after IVF

Hi - hope this is allowed. Just wanted to share that I found a charity you can send unused sealed needles, syringes or wipes which you might have left after your IVF cycle. I had a ton as I bought my own from Medisave and they sell in bulk. Your donations must have at least 12 months left on their use by date.

The company is called Intercare - Medical Aid for Africa. If you have any donations then please email info@intercare.org.uk to ask if they could be accepted. You did need to send them yourself and pay for that, I just did 2nd class Royal Mail - but it was worth it for me to know they would be useful somewhere else and for a good cause.

Thanks

I also returned mine to the clinic as they said they normally donate to red cross. I had absolutely hundreds of them!!!

Oh fab! I don’t think my clinic offered that. Just didn’t want them to be thrown away!

Yeah they said they couldn't use them but that they regularly kept them for red cross, I thought that was fantastic as I had 4 cycles of needles left over !!

Great post. I also sent my unused syringes to this organisation. They only accept sealed syringes in their original packaging.
