Left over medications after stims

Unused medications

Hi all, please what do you do with your left over medications. I started stimulation on the 4th of June and after my second scan today I was told my eggs are ready for collection on Friday. The follicles grew so fast. So since I borrowed some Money to pay for the treatment I was wondering if I can get a refund as I still have loads of meds left atleast it will help me reduce the loan. Though the clinic asked me to bring it to them without refund. Please I want to know what tour thoughts are on this as this is my first round of ivf.

Thanks to you all warriors.

Hi lovely,

Unfortunately you can’t get a refund on any unused medication. Your clinic can dispose of them for you or use them for training but they can’t buy them back.

If it has a long use by date, I would hold onto them, just in case you do any future treatments. That’s what I’ve always done xx

Thanks so much for your advise. I think I will hold on to them like you said just in case. They clinic asked me to bring it to them though. Thanks xx

You definitely don’t have to give them back to them as you’ve paid for them so definitely worth hanging onto xxx

I have looked into charities etc but there seems to be no where to donate meds, which i find crazy / illegal to sell on sites / non refundable, good luck on Friday xx

I'm holding on to most of mine just in case aswell. Some of mine have 2 years left on the expiry so no point getting rid until you are 100% sure you won't need them. It's a shame I don't know someone I could give them to or something, especially as they are so expensive it does make me a bit cross xx

Thanks for your reply. Sure, I'm going to keep mine as well because it also has 2 years before it expires. The clinic asked me to bring all my left over medications for my egg collection but I won't until I'm sure. If I need it in the future I'm sure they wouldnt help and I will need to pay for it over again. Xx

Hold onto it for yourself for future or in my case donated to my cousin as dates weren't that long...I stored it safely.

Thanks for your reply. Will do just that as that's what everyone suggested. X
