Hello - has anyone ever had a repeat EMMA test? I had the test as part of a combined ERA/EMMA/ALICE but I had abnormal results, so had to take antibiotics and then probiotics. But I had no symptoms before and am now worried about whether or not the treatment has worked to sort out my endometrial environment. I noticed the lab said that they recommend a re-test, but my clinic don’t routinely do it, they just assume the treatment has worked. Has anyone done any of these retests? Many thanks x

Repeat of EMMA test?
Hi JuicyLu. I have heard of some women who have had a previos positive test having some antibiotic cover during their next cycle. Going on to have a hysteroscopy with endometrial biopsy is also tried. Good luck! Diane
Hi Diane - yes thanks for the reply. I’ve had the antibiotics but I’m concerned about whether or not that has actually cleared it up as I had no symptoms before anyway. The lab recommend a re-test to check, but the clinic don’t routinely offer this. So really I wondered if anyone had ever had a re-test? x
Hi. I had the same outcome except my clinic recommend a retest. When I questioned them on this they said they’d never had a retest that needed further meds so I didn’t bother. I’m now 19 weeks pregnant after the final transfer after Emma etc.
Hi JuicyLuI had ERA/EMMA/ALICE and although my ERA cane back as receptive but EMMA and ALICE came back with really abnormal results. I was given a course of antibiotics followed by probiotics and then did the EMMA and ALICE tests again and thy came back normal. I got pregnant straightaway after having suffered from implantation failure and recurrent miscarriages. I am so glad I had these tests done! Good luck! Xx
Thank you - it’s good in a way that an ‘issue’ has been found, I’m just uncertain about whether the treatment has worked. I know that the clinic don’t recommend re-testing these days, but I worry - this our last euploid embryo. Glad to know the retest was good news for you x
Thank you, JuicyLu. My clinic recommended doing the retesting. They did say that in most cases the next biopsy comes back normal but to be on the safe side, they wanted me to have another test. It was our last chance (we wouldn't be able to do another round of IVF), so bearing that in mind as well, we decided to go ahead. It is a difficult decision for you to make but if you want to have that extra peace of mind, maybe talk to your clinic and explain how you feel? Maybe talking things through with your doctor would help? I wish you all the best xxx
Thanks, yes we are planning to do this next week. Did you have to wait another 4 weeks for the results? We had to wait a long time last time x
