Hi, just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience?

It’s been 58 days since my period (ER bleed). We used the pill to induce a bleed and still nothing. I do have PCOS

However because my lining is still really thin the clinic said I can do my FET this month. I’m super excited but it seems unnatural/wrong somehow without the bleed (but what about this process is!)

Any views on this? (I had both vaccines this month if that’s relevant?)

Also any transfer buddies for this month hit me up!

Hi, I don't have PCOS but after 3 unsuccessful IVFs I was having trouble with my periods. I took some meds to induce a bleed and a bleed was not forthcoming. So my clinic advised I could do what was known as random start cycle where you don't wait for the bleed, given that my lining was thin and my estrogen bloods were low. I was unsure about moving forward in this way so I completely get the feelings you have described about it feeling wrong to start when a bleed has not occurred. However they are the experts and I'm sure it cannot be the first time they have seen a situation like this. In my case I decided to wait longer and hope the period would come, it did after a few more days albeit very light! But I just wanted to let you know I was also given this option x

Thanks - That is helpful to hear of someone in the same situation. You’re right about trusting the experts.

Before my first transfer I was put on the pill and never got a withdrawal bleed when I stopped. We went ahead with the transfer anyway and unfortunately, it failed. After that, I regretted the decision to go ahead.

The above said, you question everything after a failed transfer. It likely had nothing to do with the lack of withdrawal bleed. But who knows.

Since then, to avoid the same situation, I did a back to back transfer, and recently, a mock cycle before transfer. All my transfers have been medicated, and the estrogen/progesterone replacement you take for a transfer is much stronger than the pill, so I have never had a problem getting a withdrawal bleed that way.

Make sure you ask you doctor lots of questions so you are fully informed. If the information they provide gives you a sense of confidence, then you are making the right choice. If you are still in doubt, you probably need to ask more questions.

Best of luck. x

Hi, I don’t have regular periods. I don’t ovulate although never been given an underlying reason why.

When I went in for my first ever scan at the fertility clinic before starting a fresh cycle they told me that my lining was thin and ovaries dormant despite having by last bleed weeks before. They recommended that we just start the GonalF that afternoon and not bother with inducing a withdrawal bleed/waiting for a natural bleed.

So that’s what we did and I got my BFP, although it unfortunately ended in a MMC. I know it’s a slightly different situation but just wanted you to know you can get successful implantation even when you don’t start with a bleed.

Good luck with your transfer! I’m hoping to start my FET in a few months
