Hi guys, in abit of a panic. Went to the loo last night and on my progesterone pessary stick was a small amount of brown discharge, a smear on my pad and a little when I wiped this morning. The rest of the day has been clear. I haven't had any other bleeding but I must say, the last few days I've had what I can only describe as sort of twinges and pinched, not very painful at all but I am very aware everytime I feel them which has been quite often the last couple of days. I have my scan next Friday and I wish I didn't have to wait so long as we are quite nervous and I'm worried something is wrong. Anyone else had this?

Slight bit of brown discharge at 8 weeks pregnant.
I had some similar bleeding around the same time, a moderate amount of red on my pantliner then brown for a few days. I was on pessaries too. I rang my midwife in a panic but she wasn’t remotely worried as it was a small quantity and I had no cramping. Didn’t bleed again. It is still worth speaking to your midwife, especially if worried about the twinges, and obviously call EPU if it gets worse. But hopefully it’s nothing 🙂 xx
Hey panda, the same happened to me also the other day and it was fine and nurses said it was ok. I have been having pulls and twinges quite strongly for the past week. But all was well at my viability scan. Perhaps speak with the clinic for reassurance. Hope your scan goes well x
Hi, I had brown spotting for weeks and two huge gushes of red blood. Don’t worry, the brown is sometimes caused by the catheter they have used during the IVF. 🌸 xx
Hey, Panda490, I have had a few scares ie a bright red bleed and brown discharge at various stages of my current pregnancy and every time I have gone to the EPU to have a check, the baby has been absolutely fine.
Being 16 weeks pregnant, I have learned that some of those twinges and pills/ pains are one’s uterus expanding.
I hope it all goes well at your scan on Friday. All the best 🙏🏾
I had loads of brown stuff from prssaries . untill I came.off them . I'm 28 weeks pregnant. all will be ok . it's just irritation from them
Hi Panda
At 7+6 I had a tiny bit of pinkish/red discharge when inserting my evening pessary. It sent me into an absolute panic and I couldn't sleep all night.
Called the clinic the next morning and they didnt seem concerned at all (I was booked for my 8 week scan 4 days later) they said it could be irritation from the pessaries and they would only be worried if I had pain or more heavy bleeding.
I was still mega anxious and I just couldn't wait 4 days so I booked a private scan nearby, it was 70 quid... it was brilliant, we could see baby was fine and she checked everything and said no reason for bleeding at all could be the placenta implanting and growing at this stage. It was sooo worth the 70 so if that's an option it might be worth booking just to set your mind at rest
X
I'm glad you're saying this because I'm the exact same. It's good to read that other people experience this and I hear it's all normal. Blood on the pessary stick, pulling and twinges 😐, it's all a worry but I think now it's just my body adjusting. xx
