OHSS query

Hi all,

I am about to start Menopur injections tomorrow after my bleed kicked in finishing norethisterone which made me bloat a lot!

I have been reading about OHSS and getting myself worked up about it all and I wondered if anyone could help settle my mind. I’ve been told I’m on a stronger drug regime as my AMH is low (3.4) and FSH is high (has read between 10 - 24).

So I’ll be injecting Menopur once a day in the evening at 375 iu and then Cetrotide starts on top of this on Monday at 0.25g which I take in the morning. My trigger shot is Gonsai which will be 10,000 iu

Is this high? I have nothing to compare to as this is my first cycle. Just worried as I bloated with norethisterone and didn’t expect that.

Your clinic will be carefully monitoring you while on meds for the signs & symptoms of OHSS-ask them about this & they will explain it to you

I wouldn't worry about OHSS, I was on higher levels of drugs for my 6 fresh rounds and only developed it once, mildly (and was told I had been unlucky), and it was fixed before transfer with a drug. So much to stress about with IVF don't give yourself another thing!! Good luck x

I developed OHSS, I was on a very low dosage and on stims for only one week. I have PCOS. Make sure you eat lots of protein and fluids, hopefully you will be fine! Best of luck on this cycle! Xxx

I asked my clinic about this, as I understood it they said since my AMH is lower I don’t have all the follicles so I wouldn’t get it x

Yep I was told the same, that I'd be unlikely to get OHSS with my low AMH x
