I have quite bad bloating(don’t think much of it as I get bloated quite often due to IBS), and have gained at least 13lbs since starting the whole process. No other symptoms apart from the odd headache. I’m due to have my first scan tomorrow, to see how many follicles have developed.
Should I be concerned about OHSS?

I'm sorry to hear you're quite uncomfortable. I'd give the clinic a call and ask the nurse if it were me. I'm on day 9 of stims (on a low dose because of high risk of OHSS) and so far just some cramping, a little bloating, headaches and fatigue. My first scan was yesterday and no concern so far of OHSS. Good luck to you and I hope you're able to get some relief for your symptoms. Xx
Thanks for the reply. I’m going to wait until scan tomorrow as I’m not in lots of pain. But yes will express my concerns with the nurse then. Good luck with your cycle too! Is this your first? X
Don’t worry too much. I put on quite a bit of weight during stims. I was tired all the time and didn’t exercise as much. I was really worried about OHSS as I’ve got pcos. I just kept drinking plenty of fluids. I lost the weight pretty quickly after.
I had to force myself to drink water but it worked. I only had nausea the morning after my egg extraction (which is normal for some ppl and nothing to worry about).
So EC has been put on hold, due to high estrogen levels and over twenty follicles produced from stimming. I am now ‘coasting’ until Estrogen levels reduce. I have read that if I ‘coast’ for more than four days it reduces implantation success.
Really worried the levels won’t reduce or that it will have a negative effect on my egg quality. Hoping my cycle isn’t cancelled, Feeling really low at the moment, the extra hormones aren’t helping with that 😩
If implantation success is reduced, can this not be combatted by doing a freeze all with your embryos and then starting again with a frozen cycle for embryo transfer? Chances are they will be keen for you to do this if you have ohss anyway.
Yes probably, and I know they have to put my health first but I’m just impatient and want to get on with it.
It’s just sad how we have to wait for treatment then when that happens something else comes along to upset the apple cart. It feels like it’s one thing after another 😞x
I know how you feel. It’s normal to want to get on with it. But there is some evidence that frozen transfers may be more likely to succeed so please try to hold on to that x
