Looking for some positive stories to help me through this agony, which feels worse than the 2WW!
I had 5 eggs collected last week. 2 of which were awful, and 3 fertilised.
I'm devestated as I was really expecting a higher amount of eggs on my 3rd and final ivf round... feel like my heart has been ripped out. On my last round, I only had one embryo out of 8 eggs, so now I'm finding it hard to believe that I'm going to get one.
Has anyone had any similar experiences that have resulted in a happy ending? I'm normally so positive and was excited to be doing this round, but now feel like everything has came crashing down

Hi Jamlily. I can fully understand how upset you must be feeling, but realistically you have had a slightly better outcome this time. I do hope that all three of your embryos continue to thrive. Hopefully you have plenty of support around you just now. keeping everything crossed for transfer and implantation. Diane
I had 5 eggs collected and the following morning was told 2 had fertilised and they were going to do a 3 day transfer, on the morning of the transfer as I was getting ready to leave they rang and said I had 3 embryos because 1 other had fertilised a bit later than the other 2 and all 3 embryos were doing well and said to come in for a 5 day transfer instead. I had a 4BA embryo transferred and the other 2 were good enough to freeze, I had a bfp just under 2 weeks ago, I know you might be feeling deflated at the moment but it only takes one, fingers crossed it all works out for you x
Thank for for sharing Zbez88 . Congratulations on your bfp, that is amazing news! Sounds like you had a rollercoaster week like I'm having now. Hopefully I will have a similar story to tell soon. I just need to keep hearing these positive stories to get me through. Wishing you all the best for your pregnancy xx
Thank you so much, I definitely did have a rollercoaster week, especially as my first ivf round in April I only had 2 eggs collected and had a 3 day transfer which was unsuccessful so I had pretty much written this round off aswell when I heard only 2 had fertilised again, I really hope you have a successful transfer 🤞 xx
I had 10 eggs collected and only 2 fertilised, I was gutted. One didn’t get to say 3 but One made it to blast and that one became our baby boy.
Keep the faith and try to stay as busy as you can, it’s the most difficult thing ever. Just keep repeating it only takes one (wishing you lots of luck) 🤞🤞🤞 x
Thanks Kyell2 , really happy that you got your happy ending, and thanks for sharing, I need to hear as many of these great stories as possible! It really does only take one, and I'm feeling much more positive hearing these! Xx
Hi I had 6 eggs collected back in feb , 5 fertilised, 2 made it to day 5 , 1 was transferred & I am currently 29 weeks pregnant , my first ivf only 1 egg fertilised out of 3 , it can be really hard to keep positive when you feel so disappointed & those days after egg collection are so difficult waiting on updates from the embryologist
It’s a tough journey & hard to keep on being hopeful but stay strong
Hi butterfliez congratulations on your pregnancy, and thank you for sharing. It's nice to know there are people out there who understand how agonising this wait is. Thank you so much xx
