Hope you’re all okay. Haven’t been on here for a while as been healing from our last cycle, now back on the band wagon and beginning cycle number 3!
We started on Friday last week. This time we are trying something a bit different, a short antagonist protocol with menopur. Our aim is to go for quality and not quantity as despite high level of stims, the most mature eggs my body produces is 4-6 and so far we have only ever had two fertilised eggs each round and no blastos, only one morula transferred.
I am on less stims this time to try going for 2-4 good quality eggs. 🤞🤞🤞Anyone tried this approach and had success? Any tips for helping my follicles to grow?
Taking every supplement going and eating a high protein diet. First scan tomorrow and really nervous!
Thanks as always for your support. I don’t know what I would do without this forum! xxx

Welcome back! (feels weird saying that as ideally we'd rather not be here)... but still, here we are. I've not tried that approach but I do hear good things - it's definitely not always about quantity. I think the best thing for egg quality is Ubiquinol 400mg per day, plus protein as you say, but also lots of orange foods as they have the same chemical in them as our own eggs - so carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, pumpkin etc. Also lots of eggs. Wishing you lots of luck for this round! xx
Thanks so much for your kind message Millbanks. 😊👋Really helpful tips. Yes taking Ubiquinol but didn’t know the orange food thing, really interesting! We had a lovely butternut squash soup, carrot and parsnip soup I made yesterday so will make that again this week! ☺️ 🥕Thank you for the luck, I definitely need it! How are you? How’s things? Xx
Welcome! I was also pleased to learn about orange veggies as I love them too - perfect time of year for it too
I'm actually just starting an ERA cycle, then moving on to a fresh stim cycle next month - hoping to do a fresh transfer and get some good frosties! xx
Hi Kat. Just wanted to wish you every good wish for success this time around. Yes, I have seen many antagonist cycles to be successful after failed ones. Wondered whether they have suggested using heparin or low dose soluble aspirin, if not already tried, in order to ensure a good blood flow to your womb and ovaries and hopefully prevent any clot formation. Keep up with your sensible diet. God luck! Diane
Hi Diane, thanks so much. I really appreciate your kind message. My protocol includes five days of letrozole, 225ius Menopur for 12 days, Fyremadel for 7 days (probably from tomorrow day 6) and a trigger of Ovitrelle and suprecur. I could definitely ask about the things you reference above when I go for my scan tomorrow. Do you think it’s worth me starting even though I am five days in to stims? Best wishes Kat x
