I had my final EC yesterday after taking DHEA & CoEnzyme Q10 for 3 months and we managed to get 26 eggs (quite a difference as we only got 8 eggs last time) however I had the fertilisation call today and 19 were injected but only 9 have fertilised. Last time out of the 8, we had 7 fertilise.
I don’t really know what to think or feel at present. We still technically have a higher number of fertilised eggs compared to last time but the drop in numbers has got me worried, had anyone else had a similar thing happen to them?
We’re doing PGD for a 50/50 condition so that alone will eliminate embryo numbers. Last round resulted in 3 embryos tested but 1 was clear and chromosome normal but sadly failed to stick in Feb 😞
(Sorry for the essay, just feel a bit miffed)

Response to cycles of treatment can vary so also can the amount of eggs collected each time Hope all goes well with the 9 that have fertilised and they continue to grow Good luck for the rest of your treatment
That is a huge jump from 26 to 9. So it's perfectly understandable what you're feeling right now. Let's hope more embryos survive the testing. Keep us updated!
I can see why you are upset about the drop in the numbers. Just remember it's nothing you did or didn't do. We have very little to no influence over this process.Still, 9 is a great number! Fingers crossed 🤞 all goes well!
I was told its quality over quantity. Had 10 fertilise and 3 got to stage 5. I was told this is normal, I cried when they said only 10 because I watch a lot of YouTube and America do quantity first so they have loads to start with.Try and tell yourself you only need 1 for success! Good luck x
on my first cycle we had 29 collected, 21 mature and only 7 fertilised, even with ICSI. It was a shock as we were so happy and expecting to have plenty, we thought we were over that first hurdle and had no idea fertilisation rates could be so low. So I know how you feel. But we still got 4 embryos. Unfortunately we did have to do another round and the fertilisation rate was a bit better that time.
