Scan 2: 8+6 weeks

So it's been almost 2 weeks since my viability scan at 7. I thought some of you might be interested to know what an upside down 9 week embryo looks like. Check out the tiny rabbit feet below! 😆 Measuring at 2.3cm with a heartbeat of 174. What do we think, boy or girl?

Can I just say, as a side note, how LOVELY it is to live in a country where you can pay £15 (AND NOT £150 - Rip off Britain) for an ultrasound?!

Anxiety definitely dissipating a little but I'm still denying myself any joy. Put on 3kg in a month (excellent start 🤦🏻‍♀️, thank you quarantine), I'm bloated, constipated (haven't pooed in 4 days), nauseated, KNACKERED and completely distracted but apart from that... all grand!

Having just closely studied your ultrasound, I can 100% garantee that it’s definitely either a boy or a girl ! 😂 Anyway just wanted to say congrats. 174bps ... he or she is going for it, that’s a very assured heartbeat. You must be chuffed! I’m 12 weeks now and the anxiety is still here and bloating and the exhaustion. Just had breakfast and now taking my first nap. Lol. Thanks for your update and Enjoy !

😆😆😆😆 that's so nice of you! My best friend told me, in response, that mice have high heartbeats so it could be a MOUSE! At least you're going with human baby! I need better friends clearly... 😁

look at that cheeky monkey going upside down! my girl was the same so I’m gonna go girl, she also had a heart rate in the 170s! can 100% say with absolute certainty that it’s definitely a baby🤣

Congratulations, where did u get an ultrasound for £15? I got one for £30 at ultrasounds direct at 10w. My baby’s heartbeat most the way through my last pregnancy was around 155 and was a boy. I’m not sure what my girls were would have been interesting to know but back then I didn’t pay that much attention to detail.

I'm on the other side of the world in Kuala Lumpur right now. You're telling me I can have an ultrasound for £30 in the UK??? I'm DEFINITELY looking into it.

Yeah other people have said that faster heartbeats are girls. I just really want a boy 😊 Of course, given all the shit most of us have been through, I'm not an idiot to really care about the sex as long as I come out of this with a healthy baby but one can dream right?

I know it was a baby date scan must have been on offer at the time as it’s £45 now but still cheap all other ones were £70+

I wanted a boy as I had 2 girls already but was just grateful and happy I be pregnant.

Hang in there! I actually posted on here the night before my own viability scan. I know exactly how you feel. I really wish you the best. I see you've had a long battle. Everything about this journey is brutal but hopefully it will all be worth it for us both. Love
