Did IVF and had an ultrasound yesterday with no gestational sac I was exactly 5 weeks yesterday upon scan. Hcg numbers still tripling.
First hcg on 7/24- 85
2nd on 7/27- 245
3rd yesterday 7/30- 860
They are saying now that there is a possibility of ectopic pregnancy or maybe too early to scan. Has anyone had this happen. Thanks
My clinic wouldn't do a scan before week 7. There is hope!!
More important than the weeks is the HCG level. You should see a gestacional sac when HCG > 1000 so you were a little early. I’m sure they will repeat it in a week. Good luck!
Thanks so much for reply. That’s what I have been reading is about hcg levels. so hopefully Monday when they do a repeat scan my levels should be well above 1000 so we could see something.
I had very good doubling/tripling of hcg levels and had a live ectopic - as others have said once your hcg is over 1000 or so then a sac should definitely be seen - hopefully your next scan should show Better news x
Thank you they are wanting to do a scan on Monday already so I hope that isn’t too early also.
Did you have any symptoms with your ectopic?
Not until 6+1 with both my ectopics - the second one I was had one sided pain in the morning and ruptured a few hours later
Happened to a friend of mine. They couldn’t see a sac at week 5 + and asked her to come back in 10 days and everything was fine. It could just be early like others have pointed out. Wishing you luck for the next scan, I can’t imagine how anxious the wait will be.
I wonder why they scanned so early? There’s not much they can expect to see at 5 weeks. All it achieves is cause unnecessary stress. Sorry you have to go through this.

Gestational sac not usually visible until betas reach 2000. Heartbeats not visible until 10,800. Sounds like you've scanned way too early xxx
I know it’s weird I had to do IVF with my first DD and they did an early scan but it was 5 weeks +4 days. my hcg levels were higher my first hcg with her was 350 and by the time I did her scan I was well above 3000 we saw a heartbeat and everything. Feeling a little better. Thanks everyone for your kind words. I am anxious for tomorrow’s scan but also scared it’s going to be the same thing cause it’s so early. Hopefully my hcg levels are still tripling and my hcg is now 2500 or higher.

Thanks it went good 😊 they found the gestational sac. I go in for another ultrasound next week. I feel I can breathe again
