I am hoping someone could help me put my mind at rest or even give me some guidance.
My otd was 26 December I tested on 23 December and received a BFP. I then tested otd and got a positive again (so lucky I know)
I went for a scan yesterday because my tummy was so swollen and they were worried about OHSS. The scan confirmed moderate OHSS but couldn’t see my pregnancy I was exactly 5 days. My beta hcg was 4382 and they want me to repeat my bloods tomorrow.
I am so scared any advice or anyone similar?
Thank you for reading x

Hey. Your hcg seems quite high so that’s positive. It is really early to have a scan at 5 weeks and can cause so much worry as it’s quite rare anything can be seen until closer to 7 weeks.
Try and relax - easier said than done I know. I hope your bloods show an increase tomorrow 😘xxx
Hi Chels. This is exactly why I don't like viability scans done until 7 weeks. Some are lucky at 6 weeks, but I feel it's best to wait. Your Beta hCG is really high, so Keeping my fingers crossed that all is OK. Diane
Thank you Diane. I know I keep having pains but they’re all over so cannot pin point it. I’m praying every night this is ok. I had to have a scan for a ohss and I asked them to look for a baby. My own fault I guess. I’m booked for a rescan on Thursday which would mean I’m 6 weeks exactly xx
Thank you Diane. I have been drinking lots and my tummy has reduced in swelling. I have just had my repeat beta hcg and will get the results by the end of today. Hoping they rise and I will see something on my scan on Thursday x
Hi Chels, it really may just be that it’s too early. Please try not to worry. Hopefully your next blood test shows a healthy rise and your next scan shows baby developing perfectly...x
I think it may just be too soon 5 weeks is very early to see a pregnancy. The viability scan is normally recommend for 7 weeks as most heartbeats are detectable by that point. My sister had a scan at 6 weeks due to bleeding & could hardly see anything( but had a successful pregnancy) it’s very early days but all the best with your blood test tomorrow hope it gives you some reassurance. xxx
How many embryos did you transfer? I had moderate OHSS after my last IVF, was admitted to hospital where I found out I was pregnant, had a scan at 5 weeks and nothing, went back a week later and both had implanted, two lovely sacs. I lost one twin at 8 weeks but the other is sitting chattering away on my lap as I write. It is very early to see anything but your HCG level is very promising. I should also mention that my HCG at 5 weeks was 3000 something. Hang on in there and best of luck for your next scan xxx
Hope you’re ok. From what my clinic have told me it’s from 7 weeks onwards that you see anything on the ultrasound so maybe it’s just a little too early. Have you been booked in for another scan? xx
Thank you so much. I just can’t stop worrying especially because I have no symptoms at all. Hopefully my bloods will show progress tomorrow and then scan will see something more Thursday. Xx
I had no symptoms apart from being tired all the time till about a week ago when I starting feeling sick. I haven’t really had anything else. I hope all goes well for you xx
Thank you Nikitela, I have had a repeat beta hcg done this morning and will get my results by the end of today which should tell us a little more about what is happening. Keeping everything crossed that they have increased. I’m booked for a scan next Thursday so hopefully can see my pregnancy by then x
Hi ladies, I went for my scan today, I am measuring at 5w4d gestational sac seen but nothing else. I am booked for another scan in a week. I had a transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound today. I have a tilted uterus so was hard to locate as it’s right at the back of my uterus. Hcg levels have risen over 4000 so are now 13215. Since the scan my tummy has been tender and has some cramping also lower back pain but I am putting that down to them being rough with the scan x
Hey lovely, it’s still so early - did they reassure you about this? Your levels are still increasing so I’d say it’s still a positive sign.
I had a scan around the same time as you and they couldn’t see anything plus my levels were only 1000 - so it wasn’t to be for me but it’s promising for you. Sorry you have to wait another week though, it’s such an anxious time.
