I have a question about LH surge that I’m hoping to get some advice on.
In summary, my ovulation stick indicated peak fertility on Monday. I also had a slight dip in BBT, however since then my BBT is still lower than usual. This is the first time I’ve properly used the sticks for ovulation as I usually rely on my BBT. I was surprised to see a surge on day 13 of my cycle as I thought based on my BBT that I ovulated around day 16. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced a LH surge with no temp rise or perhaps even a slow temp rise.
I had a progesterone test last night and it indicated that I had ovulated that cycle.
Thank you xx

If I may ask how long have you been BBT tracking your cycles? I think it does take a couple of them for you to understand your cycles. When I was tracking my cycles with BBT, I had noticed that it also depended on a variety of factors..amount of sleep, waking up time etc. What you are doing is best.. i.e tracking both BBT and ovulation testing. Probably you can keep a tab in the next cycles by continuing to test for ovulation even after the LH surge gets detected and then you’ll be able to tell when exactly you would have ovulated. So that way you can check if the LH surge was indicated at the right time and you will be seeing the line becoming lighter in the days after the surge gets detected.
In summary, it is a bit of an experiment initially and later on you’ll understand your cycles very well 😊
Thanks Crazy_girl. I’ve been tracking my BBT for over a year but I think what you’ve said makes sense, to use both methods so I can pinpoint exactly when I’ve ovulated. At the moment I’m just confused and when I’m confused, I start to get quite anxious. I read somewhere that it’s possible to have two LH surges. I tested again two days after the ‘peak fertility’ (although Clear Blue advises not to) and there still seemed to be two strong lines so I’m wondering if that’s a thing… I’ve slept terribly the last few nights too so not sure if that’s have an effect.
Okay. Good to know you are aware of the stuff already 😊you are also complementing it with the progesterone test which is very useful 👍that’s a sure shot way to find out about ovulation. It took me a while to get around things with the tracking 😀
I was attending accupuncture sessions and that really helped me in understanding my cycles better.
