Hi lovelies
Just a little update. I went for my second monitoring scan (d16) and my womb lining has grown a little from d13 (6.5mm). So I've hit 7.11mm and passed the minimum 7mm that my consultant set for me. Woo hoo, so FET is set for next Thursday 8th July
Weirdly whilst I was being scanned, the nurse pointed out that I had a bicornuate or heart shaped uterus! Has anyone had experience of this?
I'm surprised that after all the years of trying to conceive and who know how many scans, that noone has ever mentioned this before. My cousin had a baby last year and when she fell pregnant apparently there was concern as she had two compartments to her womb. I didnt pay any attention at the time but it sounds like a bicornuate uterus - which is genetic and only affect 3% of women apparently.
My cousin did carry to full term. But Dr Google has some scary articles on high risk pregnancies as a result. Given Im 42 and this is IVF, (along with NK and immune issues), additional high risk factors are not what I need hahaha!
Has anyone had experience of IVF and bicornuate uterus?
xx
