Hello lovelies,
I was wondering if any of you have/ or know someone who has had really really low AMH (less than 1), but managed to conceive using just Letrozole only (no other stims, meds, or IUI)?
Also, have you heard of/ seen “Egg/ cell shells”, or deflated follicles after ovulation?…
So basically… while waiting for private help to kick-off on 13th July, I have been on a low dose (5mg) cycle of Letrozole. Just thought I’d give it a go meanwhile, to see how I respond to the drugs (before going hardcore at Private clinic, and finding out it doesn’t work for me!). I was advised to take it on days 2-6, but I sneakily went for Days 1-5 (because I came on the night before and didn’t want to leave it too long). Had a scan today on cycle day 12, expecting a measly AFC (had 5 at my baseline). So… they told me that it looks like I have already ovulated (just) - and 1 egg from each ovary, with a further 2+3 smaller follicles (which of course won’t mature now anyway). I felt some strange twinges yesterday morning, on both sides, which I’ve never felt before - so now wondering if this was it happening?!. She was very confident that we were looking at the “shells” of the egg cells/ deflation of the follicles. I have a further blood test next week to check progesterone, to confirm if I ovulated (I know it’s not an exact science though).
I really don’t want to get my hopes up, but I’m shocked (and trying not to get excited) that I may have produced an egg with such low AMH - however I’ve never heard of seeing egg shells on scans (I’m new to all of this, so not very well studied!). Anyone ever heard of this or seen the “shells” on their scans?
Thank you xx
