Hi, I am booked in for FET on Tuesday...on Tuesday passed I had a scan and lining was over 10mm...on Wednesday evening I started to bleed a deep red which then started to calm down yesterday....clinic rescanned me yesterday and said Lining was measuring at 13mm and said they were unsure where the bleed had came from but didn’t look like a period but there was a lot of ‘waves’ they advised they will have to rescan me morning of transfer as if the waves are still there the transfer won’t be able to go ahead as it reduces the chances of a pregnancy...has anyone everyone heard of these before? Any advice I would appreciate x

Hi Vicky. This a form of peristalsis, which is the movement of faeces along the gut and food down your foodpipe. It also occurs in the womb and could cause the embryo to be expelled prior to a bleed, so if it hasn'tstopped, they might not go ahead with the transfer. That would be heart breaking, but conditions need to be good before transfer. This doesn't mean it will happen again. Thinking of you. Diane
Thanks for your response...do these usually go away? If it was happening yesterday do u think it might be away for Tuesday? Yeah they have said if it’s still happening on Tuesday then the transfer won’t go ahead...is there anything I can do to stop this? X
It might be worth asking your clinic about taking buscopan. It can calm uterine peristalsis and some studies have shown an improvement in pregnancy rates. xx
