Bleeding after ectopic

I was wondering if anyone had experience of bleeding after ectopic surgery following IVF? I had my tube removed on Wednesday and started what seems like a period today. I’m presuming it’s just a withdrawal bleed from stopping the progesterone pessaries, but I wanted to check if anyone’s had the same thing?

Yes I’ve had 2 ectopics- lost both tubes - the second one was following IVF

The bleed after the operation you can consider your “period” - it’s in response to hcg levels reaching zero so will shed your lining. Just bear in mind you may shed it all in one go and pass the deciduous caste which if you aren’t expecting it (like I wasn’t the first time!) can be a shocking - it will be a large fleshy grey mass by the way

I would count either the passing of the caste or the day of heaviest bleeding as cycle day 1 and you should get your next period within 5 weeks

Yea I had an ectopic and lost my tube. It’s very normal. Plenty of rest. Sending you hugs xxx 😘
